Mr Penland was bom in baurens,
a son of Mrs. Lillie Farrell Pen-
land and the late Turner Penland
He had made his home in Whitmire
for more than 30 years where he
was employed by the J. P Stevens
Co. For the past 10 years he had
made his home near Joanna where
he was employed by Joanna Mills.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ber
