Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Elliott were
called to Georgetown last week due
to the illness of their granddaughter,
Dianne Mundy. Dianne received a
concussion in a fall at her home,
she is improving at this time.
Mrs. W. E- Brown spent last week
in Anderson with her brothers, C. L.
and J. D. Higginbotham. They ac
companied her home on Sunday and
visited Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Elliott
and Mrs. Emma Higginbotham.
W. W. Niver, Misses Ann and El
inor Niver and Mrs. W. W. Niver
3rd, visited in Greenville Saturday.

and baby at the Newberry hospital,

home in Charlestorr Saturday after

at the local hospital.
Steve Floyd suffered a broken arm
last Thursday and has returned
home from Joanna hospital.
Mrs Laura Bedenbaugh is conva
lescing at home following' surgery
at the local hospital.
Mrs. Margie Moates is receiving
treatment at the local hospital.
John Earl Thomas is a medical
patient at Joanna hospital
E. C. PRATER DIES AT HOME
Eugene C. Prater, 69, died at 8:30
p. m., Friday, at his home after sev
eral months of declining health.
He was a native of Saluda County,
but had made his home in Joanna
for the past 20 years. He was a son
<»f Nancy Ester and the late R L.
Prater and wag a member of Ep-
worth Methodist Church of Joanna.
In addition to his mother, surviv
ors include his widow, Mrs. Linner
Goff Prater of Joanna; six sons,
W. N., H. S., and Eddison Prater of
Joanna; Vaughn Prater of Colum
bia; H. L. Prater of Camden; and
Virgil Prater of Anderson; three
daughters, Mrs. Marvin Tucker of
Greenville; Mrs. F. C. Rowe and
Mrs. T. W. King of Joanna; five bro
thers, L. E. Prater of Joanna; R.
L., S. O., and B. B. Prater of Bates
burg; and Carl P. Prater of Atlanta,
Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. T. P. Ramsey
of Columbia; and Mrs. Mack Mc
Carty of Batesburg; 27 grandchil
dren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3:00
p. m., Sunday, from Epworth Meth
odist Church in Joanna by the Rev.
Nathan Fleming and the Rev. James
B. Mitchell. Burial was in Rosemont
cemetery at Clinton.

Harold Darnell. Louie Nabors. Cliff
; Tucker, Frank Trotter and Harry
, Kelly.
