She will also visit relatives in Chester, Newberry and Whitmire while she is on a few weeks visit home. Sgt. Franklin will join her here for a visit the first of August. Mrs. Chester Perritt and her brother, Clyde Croy, Jr., visited rel atives in Ware Shoals Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Wilson and son, Ricky, visited relatives in Georgia a few days this week. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Croy, Sr., visited relatives in Greenville on Sunday. Billy Crandall, who is playing ball with Greenville Piedmont team, vis ited his grandmother, Mrs. W. D. Sizemore here for the week-end. SPENDS VACATION IN FLORIDA Mtf. and Mrs. B. A. Boozer spent their vacation in Florida recently and were the guests of their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Booz er and son. Enroute home they visited Mrs. Mencie Rome and son, Vernon, of Warner Robins, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Boozer were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Boozer of Newberry this week end. VISITS ALABAMA George Cato and Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Heaton, Jr., and children, Fred die and Shriley Ann visited Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Hughes in Jasper, Ala., recently. Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Abercrombie and family and Mrs. Lula Aber crombie, of Fountain Inn, visited Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Oakley on Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Bennett, of Laurens, visited Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Rice on Monday. VISITS LOUISIANA Mr. and Mrs. Bill Snow and son, Victor, visited Mr. and Mrs. O’Neil Campbell and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Campbell in New Orleans, La., re cently. Margie Campbell returned home with them on a visit here. ( Mr. and Mrs. Claude Bennett, of Laurens, were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Rice on Monday. VISITS MISSISSIPPI Mr. and Mrs. Bill Snow and son, Victor, and Margie Campbell visit ed Mr. and Mrs. Winford Snow in Mississippi recently. Mr. and Mrs. O’Neil Campbell • and family, of New Orleans, La., visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Campbell on Sunday. Margie Campbell returned home with them after visiting relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Horton, of Dublin, Ga., visited Mrs. Evelyn Webb and son, Dessie, during the week-end. James McLendon, of Davenport, Fla., visited Mrs. Evelyn Webb and son during last week. Joe Goodwin, of Mullins, visited his grandmother, Mrs. Joe B. Land and enjoyed a trip to Camp Buck- horn last week. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Elledge and sons had as their Sunday visitors Mrs. Rose Prather, of Whitmire, Mrs. A. G. Smith and sons, of Chester. Also Mrs. Lillie Wel- hourne, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Wil lis and daughter, Jean, and Miss Alice Thompson, of W’hitmire. VISITORS OF GEORGIA Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fowler visited Mrs. Fowler’s mother, Mrs James Dunaway and family recently. Beth and Mike Fowler returned home with their parents to Augusta after a few months visit here with their grandmother and relatives. VISITS FLORIDA Mr. and Mrs. O’Dell Crawford and sons, of Anderson, and Mrs. Abilene Evans spent several days recently with relatives in Florida. group repeated a Bible verse each day while there' before breakfast each morning, and the camp fire log and blessings were asked before each meal. The members were taught folk dancing and many songs of Camp Fire and on Friday each member was given a lesson on personal grooming and table manners under supervision of leaders and Mrs. Land. Friday night was stunt night and each group had an act and every one had lots of fun. They returned home on Saturday morning. CANNON Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Cannon, 9, widow of Wil liam A. Cannon, who died Thursday were conducted Thursday at 5:M p. m. at Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. J. W. Spillers Burial waa in Rosemont cemetery. Nephews served es pallbearers. Mrs. Cannon (fled suddenly Thurs day afternoon at e local hospital fol lowing several months of declining health. A native of Greenweed, she had lived here for the past 30 years. She waa a daughter of the late J. A. and Sally Gaines Medlock. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Her husband. Wiliam A. Cannon, died in ISM. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs D. W. Bagwell of Miami, Fla.; Mrs. Cecil Walker of Laurens; Mrs. Jessie Harmon of Johnston; and Mrs. Ted Ward of Clinton; three Feet sons, Nathan Cannon ef' Willie Cannon, U. S. Victor Snow has been ill but is im proving at his home on Bluford 4 Street Extension Mrs. Joel Cox bas been ill at her home on Pitts Street but is improv- ing nicely. - - CATCH BIG FISH Arthur Smith, formerly of Clem- son, and a son of Mrs. Lonnie Smith caught a 9 pound bass at a lake in Chester during last week-end. enjoyed trip at camp BUCKHORN The members and leaders and counselors of the Petago District enjoyed a trip to Camp Buckhorn on Paris Mountain in Greenville last week. Roberts, and Mrs. C. A. Elledge. They enjoyed physics each morn ing before breakfast at 8 a. m. Aft erwards they cleaned rooms, then attended flag raising at 9 o’clock. The rest of the mornings were spent at craft work, singing campfire songs and swimming and sports. The lunches were served at 12:80 o’clock, then a rest period from 1 until 2 o’clock. Then craft work and sports activities again from 2 until 4. The rent of each day was spent •for recreation. Mr. Elledge is a former resident of this city, a brother of C. A. Elledge. Mrs. Elledge is the former Rosemary Monahan, of Brooklyn, N. Y. They have three sons, ages 9, E. 5.
