Laurens Inquest Mason Held In O'Shields Death The Clinton Little Boys baseball season opens neict Tuesday after noon with two games. The first game will be between the Kiwanis team (Thomwell) and Joanna at 3:45 p. m The second game will be between the Lions team (Hampton Ave. School) and Whitmire. Wed nesday the Exchange (Lydia) will play the Moose (Bailey School) at 4:30 p. m. Thursday will find the Kiwanis and Moose teams playing. The coaches for the Little Boys teams this year will be as follows: Kiwani? Team—Bill Sullivan. Exchange Team — Ellis Huffstet- ler. Moose Team — Charles Leather- wood. Joanna Team—Hack Prater. Whitmire Team—Charlie Brown Lions Team—Harry Nettles. PONY OPENS MAY 14 The Pony League season will upen May 14. Pony games will start at 3:30 p m and will be played on the Junior High School field Coaches of the' Pony teams will be the same as the coaches of the Little Boys teams except Hampton Pony team. Wilmot Shealy will coach this team. TO FORM NEW LEAGUE The Small Fry season will open May M. the same date the Beginner League will open All boys who do not make the Small Fry. The four-lane limit ed access route passes under the Clinton-Whitmire road (CS 72) at a point about three miles from the city, and the over-pass here bt one of several in the Clinton area. The Interstate highway w ill be a direct route to Charles ton to the southeast and to Spartanburg into North ( aro- lina in the other direction. Paving of the Interstate road is expected to get underway as soon as construction of overpass is completed. Also, joining 26 near Clinton will be the new four-lane highway from Creenville which is already in use to a point near Gray Court in Laurens County.—Photo by Dan Yarborough.
