FERTILIZER PASTURES
I believe the price of cattle will
warrant an application of fertilizer
to pastures. Add extra nitrogen to
get growth on grasses. Cattle will
gain more weight and cows will give
more milk for young nursing calves.
If in doubt about an application of
lime, hav> soils tested. It will not
cost you a penny and the process
is very simple. Anybody can take a
soil sample.
UVESTOCK FIELD DAY
Plans have been made for a Live
stock Field Day to be held at the
American Legion Fair rounds in
Greenville. The day is April 8th.
Taking part on the program will be
R. C. Edwards, Acting President of
Clemson College; C. O. Hinsdale,
Vice-Pres. and Genieral Mbnager
of Balentine Packing Company in
Greenville; L. B. Massey, District
Agent of Clemson Extension Ser
vice; and F. L. Outlaw, President
of Food-Lane, Inc., Anderson. In
addition, R. F. Wheeler, Head of the
Clemson College Animal Husbandry
Department; and many others, in
cluding specialists from Clemson
College Extension Service and Ex
hours.
She was taken forcibly from the
car of a wtiman companion as they
were preparing to lepve for their
homes in Laurens County after
attending a Greenville movie.
A federal warrant charging
Thorne, husky 26-year-old Greer
laborer with “unlawful flight in
interstate commerce to avoid pro
secution” has been issued. The
warrant was turned over to U. S.
Marshall Frank Reid of Green
ville for service when the widely-
sought man is located.
Meanwhile, the trail of Thorne
appeared to have vanished in Fay
etteville, N. C., where he had been
traced after the incident sent
Greenville city, county and state
law enforcement agencies into swift
operation and finally brought the
Federal Bureau of Investigation
into the case.
Greenville Police Chief P. P.
Oakes, however, said althou^i the
trail is temporarily cold, we know
his habits and the places he has ( periment Station, will appear on the
been before. We are using all our re-' program.
