Mrs. D. R. Roberts was a medical
patient at Blalock Clinic a few days
last week.
Mr. Claude Willard has returned
to work after a week’s illness
Mrs. Emmie Thomas is recuper
ating at her home following surgery
at Hays Hospital last week.
Mrs. Linda Lou Davis was ill
during the week end.
LYDIA BAPTIST CHURCH NEWS
A Baptism Service will be held
during the regular Sunday morning
worship service at the Baptist
Church at 11:00 A. M.
Nine junior girls are to be
baptised.
The public is invited to these and
other services of the church.
There will be no Junior R. A.
Meeting tonight.
The Brotherhood will go to the
Laurens County’ Jail Thursday
(tonight) at 7:30 P M. for a wor
ship service.
The Regional Training Union
Convention will be held at the First
Baptist Church in Newberry Mon
day with an afternoon and evening
session.
Some of the Lydia Baptist
Church members will be attending.
State Overseer Attends
Mountvitle Grange Meet
The Mountville Grange held its
regular meeting Thursday evening
at the Grange Hall.
Tom Hill, district forest ranger
showed some interesting films on
forest conservation. Franklin Smith,
state overseer of the Pliney Grange
near Greer, and Mrs. Smith were
present. J4r. Smith told some of
the advantages of being a Grange
member and how the Granges are
making better communities.
During the social hour refresh
ments were served by Mr. and Mrs.
Roy Miller, Mr. and Mrs. P H.
Miller, Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Bums,

Junior High Entries

Science Fair
Two entries from Clinton Junior
High School placed in the Western
South Carolina Science Fair which
was held at Furman University,
Greenville. Friday and Saturay
Harry McSween. Jr., placed sec
ond in the junior high goolo& di
vision with his collection of rocks
aid minerals and was awarded a pm

placed tecond in the group entries,

Eye They were given a certificate
of merit with a second junior award
seal.

in the coming years
