spoke in behalf of the mill
management He praised the work
ers on their fine safety record
which now is a little over one and
a half mlifion man-hours. He also
urged them to practice safety every
day and protect their record
The employees and their guests

SPOOLER ROOM HAS DINNER
The employees of the spooler
ioohi enjoyed a babeeue chicken
dinner at the picnic shelter Satur
day afternoon.
They were awarded the dinner
for having worked a full year with
out a lost time accident
The employees and their families
were guests of the management of
Joanna Mills.
Jams Sloan spoke hi behalf of
Mr Regnery and the mill manage
ment on the fine record of the
spooler room He urged them to
keep up their practice of safety on
the job
The dinner was prepared by Mr.
and Mrs. V. L. Cotney. Gordon
Boyce is overseer of the department.

day, December 5, at 8;00 p. m. at
the home of the bride's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. D. V. Wright, on Bla
lock Drive.

The Physical Education Class of
Clinton High School honored Miss
Linda Wright with a bridal shower
at her home last Thursday night.
Following a short wedding trip
the young couple are making their
home with the bride’s parents.
Mrs. Turner is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs D. V. Wright of Jo
anna. and is a student at Clinton
High School.
Mr. Turner is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Colie Turner of Clinton and Is
employed at the Colonial Store In
Clinton.
BRIDE-ELECT FETED
Miss Gwen Price, December bride-
elect, was honored with a bridal
shower at the Joanna Club House
on Tuesday evening.
Mrs. Lavinia R. Cooley directed
appropriate games and contests
for the forty guests present.
Miss Price was presented a no
velty corsage on her arrival.
The seving table was covered in
green and overlaid with a white or
gandy cloth. Three-branched can
delabra with lighted tapers were
used on each end. Cake squares
and lime sherbert weqe served
from the table.
The hostesses were Mfs. Pauline
Sease, Mrs. Thelma Crolley, Mrs.
Ruby Long. Min Ulhe Mae Frank
tin, Mrs. Robbie Bridges, Mrs. Jea
nette Farmer and Mrs. Violet
Gwinn.
The games were led by Misses
Judy Stevens and Henrietta Spoone
About 28 guests were present.
During the social hour the host
esses served sandwiches, drips,
pickles, cookies, mints, and cold
drinks.
Miss Wrgiht received many love
ly gifts including a piece of luggage
from the hostesses.
