C., Thursday, October 30, 1958 Charles Baker, 32, resident of the community south of Clinton off Highway 72, has been released on bond of $600 after having been taken in by sheriffs officers Thursday night for having in possession and transport ing ten cases, 60 gallons, of bootleg liquor. Baker was arrested after a short chase from High way 72 to a county road in the area by Sheriff Wier, Deputies H. R. Jones, George Blackwell, and Horace Mitchell, shown in the photo. The 1950 Buick automobile Baker was driving was confiscated, sheriffs officers said. The department asks that any celebration on this night be lim ited to children under Junior High School age and that these chil dren have some supervision.
