who had been visiing her for sev

spending the week with Mrs.

Mr. and Mrs. V. P. Adair left
Tuesday to spend several weeks in
Hampton, Va., with their daughter,
Miss Vivian Parks Adair. Miss
Adair will accompany them to
Washington, D. C., where they will
visit their sister and aunt, Mrs. W.
T. Jenkins.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wallace
and family have moved into their
new home on Missallie Drive in
Pitts’ Meadow.
Captain Lee Blakely, M.D., re
turned yesterday to Bolling Air
Force Base Hospital, Washington,
D. C., after a few days visit with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. A.
Blakely.
Mr. and Mrs. George Bultman of
Sumter, were week-end guests of
the former’s sister, Mrs. Raymond
Pitts.
Mrs. Eugene Johnson and Mrs.
Francis Blalock accompanied Mrs.
Guy S. Blakely to their new home
at Centerville near Charleston sev
eral days last week. Mr. Blakely
also spent the week-end there and
they with their little son will return
next week to make their home. Mr.
Blakely will enter the Medical Col
lege of South Carolina.
Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Liner of
Chapel Hill, N. C., Joe Compton of
Cedar Grove, N. C., and Ben Smith
of Charlote, N. C., were week-end
guests of Mrs. Hattie Bonds, com
ing especially for the Bonds-Hughes
wedding on Saturday.
Mrs. Luther Belcher of Danville,
Ky , is spending several weeks with
her daughter, Mrs. Judson Breh-
mer, and Mr. Brehmer
Lt. Col. and Mrs. W. W. Barnett
and small son have returned to
their home on Calvert Avenue after
a visit with Mrs. Barnett’s relatives
in Rogers, Texas. Col. Barnett
joined them in Texas after attend
ing summer camp at Fort Benning,

Sunday for a week’s stay at Paw
ley’s Island after spending a few
days with hte former’s sisters, Mrs.
B. B. Ballard and family and Miss
Kate Milam.
J. Roy Casque left yesterday for
New Orleans, La., to attend the
showing of the 1959 Buick and a
convention of dealers.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Mize and
sons, Robert and Lindsay, of Sara
sota, Fla., are spending the week
with Mrs. Mize’s mother, Mrs. E.
T. Woodruff, and sister, Mrs. J. B.

Mrs. R. W. Wade has returned

Friends of David Templeton, son
of Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Temupleton,
will be glad to know he is improv
ing satisfactorily from a hand
injury received when a bottle ex
ploded. David spent several days
at Self Memorial hospital, Green
wood, for treatment.
Dr. and Mrs. T. Layton Fraser
and daughter, Ann, have returned
to their home here. Dr. Fraser has
been on a tour of Europe, the Holy
Land and England for the past two
months. Mrs. Fraser and daughter
have been visiting Mr. and Mrs
David Ross in Richmond and other
relatives in Virginia. Dr. Fraser
joined them at the home of their
daughter, Mrs. Robert P. Schneider
and Mr. Schneider, in Ludington,
Mich., and christened their little
daughter, Karen Marie
Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Struck, for
merly of Waletrboro, have moved
to Clinton and are making their
home on South Owens street. Mr
and Mrs. Struck will be members
of the High School faculty.
Mrs. W. Q. Grigg and son. Quay,
Jr., of Charlotte, N. C.,' spent the
week-end with her mother, Mrs.
Metta Stone, and family Quay, Jr.,
| will leave soon for Newark, Del.,
where he will be a member of the
faculty at the University of Dela
ware. Also visiting Mrs. Stone last

On Thursday, August 21. Holmes
Holland and E C. Edwards accom
panied the Cub Scouts of Den 3,
Pack 174, to Spartanburg where
they enjoyed a tour of the Herald-
Journal plant
A guide explained the operation
and each was given a paper. Other
points visited included the new
court house, the Memorial Auditor
ium, Wofford College campus, and
Bond Bakery.
At Cleveland Park the group en
joyed the playground, the small ani
mal zoo, the lake, train rides and re
freshments. Enroute home they
toured Croft State Park.
