Smith. Rev. William Moreau attended camp at Camp Fellowship on Lake Greenwood the past week. Mrs. W. E. Johnson fs spending the week in Charlotte, N. C., with Me and Mrs. J. E. Cobb, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Jerome McLendon and Tony of Winter Haven, Fla., visited Mr. and Mrs. Ike Jones on Sunday. Mrs. J. Hall, Mr. and Mrs. Alston Murrell of Johnston, were recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Ithiel Harvey. Mr. and Mrs. William Stone and Debbie of- Anderson, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell and Murphy Stone. Pvt. Otis Whelchel spent a 14- day leave recently with Mrs. Whel chel and other relatives following his basic training at Fort Benning, Ga. This scandalous violation of free speech first took place this year when the Internal Revenue Service ruled that money spent for adver tisement which promotes free en terpnse in the generation of elec tric power cannot be considered “ordinary and reasonable expen ses” deductible for tax purposes For years, public utilities have inserted "institutional advertising' in the nation's newspaper and magazine press.
