riage June 28 at Shady Grove Pres
byterian Church.
The Reverend J. B. Mitchell per
formed the ceremony
Miss Marian Surratt served as
pianist and Miss Ethel Rowe as vo

The church was decorated with
white gladioli, Queen Anne's lace
and magnolia blossoms. Two seven-
branched candelabra were abo
used.
Miss Betty Zane Longshore was
maid of honor and she won' a pas
tel blue batiste dress and carried
a nosegay of pink carnations
The ushers were Ray Farmer

The bride was given in marriage
by her father, Frank Motes. She
chose as her wedding dress a white
original pique featuring an em
pire waistline. She wore a white
lace hat and carried a satin Bible
with a white orchid.
The bride's mother wore a blue
two piece dress with embroidered
trim and white accessories. Her
corsage was of pink carnations.
The groom’s mother wore a yel
low summer cotton dress with Irish
lace trimming. Her accessories
were white with a corsage of white
carnations.
Mrs. Murphy is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Motes of near
Clinton. Mr. Murphy is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Millard Murphy of
Joanna.
Following a short wedding trip to
the mountains Mr. and Mrs. Mur
phy are at home at 337-A Hampton
St., Joanna.
