Myrtle Beach where Mr. Brehmer
had an exhibit at the South Caro
lina Medical convention.

ed yesterday from a few days visit
with her daughter, Mrs. Joe Cutch-

Last Monday night a group of
men met and decided to try and
form about four teams for a new
game called slo-pitch. This game
is on the order of softball, but can’t
be hit as far as a softball The
plans are now to form four teams
and start the season in about two]
weeks. .

ternoon between the Lions and Ki-
wanis was a thriller from start to
finish with the Liohs handing the
Kiwarns team their first loss of the
season, 2 1 Holcombe of the Lions
and Cash of the Kiwams team,
struck out 15 and 14 respectively.
The Lions got foiy hits and the Ki-
wanis team two.
Tuesday night Russell Cooper,
president of the recreation commis
sion, and Director S. B. Templeton,
attended a State Little Boys meet
ing in Columbia. South Carolina has
84 Little Boys Leagues this season
The satte is divided into eight dis
tricts Clinton is in district two and
we have again been awarded the
district two tournament for Little
Boys This tournament will be held
in our park the latter part of July.
District two has eleven teams, in
cluding two from Laurens, Chapin,
Winnsboro, Lancaster, Chester,
Ware Shoals, Greenwood, Abbe
ville, Union, and Clinton A meeting
of representatives from the teams
will be held soon to discuss plans
for the tournament
Wednesday the Exchange team
won their first game of the season,
defeating Whitmire 5-3. Bailey was
the winning hurler and Bostic the
loser. McLendon of the Exchange
Club hit his first homer of the sea
son in this game
In the second game Wednesday
the Lions Club defeated Joanna
19-0 Shields was the winning pitch
er, and Riser the loser.
