P. Riddle of Laurens, were guests Sunday of Mrs. F. M. Stutts. Mrs C. A. Holland, Mrs. James Pitts and Mrs. Hubert Pitts will re- utm today from an overnight visit with the formers’ sister, Mrs. Eu gene Brown, Mrs. Pitts’s daughter, Mrs. Paul Martin and family, and Mrs. Hubert Pitts’ sister, Mrs. Ken neth Burdette, in Charleston. Mr and Mrs. Hugh Eichelberger, Jr., and daughter, Sandra, of Deca tur, Ga., and Miss Catherine Eich elberger of Columbia, spent the week-end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Eichelberger. Rev. Lewis S. Hay of the Presby terian College faculty, attended the rally of the Young Adults of Enoree Presbytery Sunday at the Second Presbyterian Church, Greenville. The Rev. Mr. Hay took part on the program. Mr. W. L. Marhall of Wadesboro, N. C., is visiting Mrs. W. L. Mar shall, Jr., and Mrs. C. M. Bailey. Frank C. Sherrill spent several days last week in Charlottesville, Va., where he attended meetings at the Institute of Textile Technology. Mr. Sherrill is technical superin tendent of Joanna Cotton Mills. Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Ellis of Greenville, were week-end guests of the latter’s sister, Mrs. George Brockenbrough, and Mr. Brocken- brough. Mr. and Mrs. W. G. King spent a few days last week at Garden City Beach with the former’s sister, Mrs. Harry Phillips, of Spartan burg. Enroute home they visited their daughter and son-in-law, Mr and Mrs. Alex Cruickshanks. in Co lumbia. Mrs. John W. Little was the week-end guest of her sister, Miss Irene Curlee, in Winnsboro. Dr. and Mrs.'R. H. Dawson spent the week-end at the Isle of Palms with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. J Dawson. Mrs. Ansel B. Godfrey attended a meeting of the South Carolina Rose Society in Columbia Friday. Don Grenade of Columbia, visit ed his mother, Mrs. B. Frith, a few days last week. Friends of Mrs E H. Hall will be interested to know she is a pa tient at the Presbyterian hospital in Charlotte, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Line of Atlan ta, Ga., and Miss Florence Winn, student at Agnes Scott College, De catur, Ga., wil spend the coming week-end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carlton F. Winn. Dr and Mrs. David Tribble and children of Otis Air Force Base, Mass., arrived Tuesday night for a week’s visit with the former’s pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Tribble. Mr. and Mrs. Eld Wells had as their guests over the week end Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Mattison of Honea Path, Mr. and Mrs A L. Haupfear of Coronaca, Mrs. Bobby Black and daughters of Greenwood. Mr. and Mrs. George Lee Bell and children of Abbeville, were week-end gusets of the former’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Julian Bell Mr and Mrs. Julian Bolick spent the week-end at their summer cot tage at Pawley’s Island. On Friday Mr Bolick attended a meeting of the W i n y a h Indigo Society in Georgetown. Billy Davis and Ted Davenport, I students at Clemson College, spent the week-end with their parents and also visited friends at Winthrop Col lege. Mrs. A A. Tolbert was the week end guest of Mrs. W A. G Home is a patient at Medical Col-! lege Hospital, Charleston, where she underwent an operation yester day. Miss Jane Todd, student at Ers- kine College, Due West, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Todd, Thursday arid Friday. She! had as her guests Misses Martha Jane Quinn of Little Rock, Ark.,| and Harriett Smith of Clover, also students at Erskine Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Hart will be week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Oeland in Darlington. E. Frank Anderson attended the funeral of his nephew, Walter Fow ler, in Mauldin on last Wednesday. Mr and Mrs. Tench P. Owens were in Columbia during the week end to attend the South Carolina Bar Association meeting. R. P. Skenes of Columbia, who is spending several weeks in Lynch burg, Va., on business, joined Mrs. Skenes and little son, Ronnie, here for the week-end at the home of her mother, Mrs. J. B. Speake Mr. and Mrs E. S. Corley, for merly of Columbia, are now' mak ing their home here and are resid ing in an apartment in the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Corley, on North Adair street. Frank E. Cauley and Mrs. Attis Todd left Tuesday for Bethesda. Md., to be with Mrs. Cauley who will undergo an operation tomorrow at the National Health Center there Mrs. D M Douglas of Chester, is the guest of Mrs C. M Bailey for a few days. Mr and Mrs R. Hunter Finney Passes In Union Joe Dailey Wins Second Place In \ | Stale Jaycee Event Joe Dailey, Clinton High School senior, won second place in the South Carolina Junior Chamber of Commerce Road-E-0 at George- towii last week-end Dailey, the son of Mr and Mrs. L. P. Dailey, scored 412 points out of a possible 565. 'He received a plaque from Charles Reid of Green ville, state Jaycee Safety Chairi man. Goodge Deer, of Pawley’s Island, was winner of first place with 444 points. He was presented a $500 scholarship by the Pure Oil Co at the awards bnaquet and will also represent the South Carolina Jay- cees in the national Jaycee Road-E- 0 in Washington, D. C. There were 42 entrants in the Road E-0 which began Saturday af ternoon. The contestants were win ners in community driving events sponsored by various Jaycee chap ters,. Brown, Long Branch Section, Passes On Tuesday William Rodger Brown, 73, died early Tuesday at his home in the Long Branch community near Clu> ton after several years of declining health Mr Brown was a native of Lau rens County where he spent hts en tire life He was a son of the late William Penn and Eugenia Madden Brown He was a member of, the Long Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served on the board of deacons for a number of years He was married twice. His first marnage was to Miss Annie Jxiu Duvall who died a num ber of years ago.
