H. S. Watson has returned to his home in Columbus, Miss., following a few weeks visit with his daugh ter, Mrs. E. W. MitchelL and Mr. Mitchell. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Satterfield and family and Marie Martin were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fester Har ris in Florence over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Windsor vis ited Sunday with Mrs. J. W. Word who is ill at her home in Laurens Mrs. Marion Lawson, Steve, and Miss Corinne Lawson, Mrs. Phyllis Pierce and Bud Phipps attended the all-night singing at the Memorial Auditorium in Spartanburg Satur day. Mrs. B. F. Harvey, Mrs. E. C. Burdette and Mrs. Clyde Trammell attended the annual inspection of the Ruby Pinckney Outz OES chap ter in Greenwood Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Boozer were Sunday visitors of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Boozer, in Newber ry. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Gilstfap, Jr., and Nathan spent the week-end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilstrap, Sr., Mr. and Mrs I. J. Fair in Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Bailey, Mr. and Mrs. John Gallman and daughter, visited the latter’s relatives in Rock Hill on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. H. W Williams were called to Greenville Friday morning due to the death of the let ters father, W. W. Ball. Sunday guesfc of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Cooper were Mrs. George Wade and Miss Louise V^ade of Great FaUs; Mrs. Ruth Harbin, Sympathy Extended To Families Sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Williams in the death of Mrs. Williams' father, William W. Ball, on Friday morning. Mr. Ball with Mrs. Ball visited their daughter here many times. He was 90 years of age and had been mar ried for 60 years. Brotherhood To Have Party The Brotherhood of the Lydia Baptist Church will entertain their wives with a Valentine party on Fri day evening at 7 o’clock in the so cial hall of the church. Young People To Attend Meeting The young people of the Lydia Bapist" Church will meet at the 'church tonight at 6:45 p. m. to go Warrior Creek Baptist Church for the young people’s associations! meeting. . v With The Sick Danny South is recuperating at home following several days illness at Hays hospital. Bruce Bagwell is an operation pa tient at Hays hospital. James Russell Satterfield has re turned home following a week’s ill ness at Hays hospital. On, Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Paul Glenn, Keith and Deidra of Greenville, visited the Trammells. Mrs. Bessie Bishop of Clinton, Mrs. Hobart Sellers and sons, Stan ley and Sgt. Dale Sellers of Orange burg, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. 0. Smith on Wednesday of last week. Sgt. Sellers has just returned from Japan and has received a dis charge from the army. Mrs. Henry Abercrombie and Mrs. Virginia Wilson were recent visitors of Mrs. James Cauble, who remains, a ngtient at the General Hospital in Greenville, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Burdette vis ited his brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Burdette and family in Cal houn Falls, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Bur dette in Greenwood Sunday. Mrs. Emma Neal of Greenwood, was the week-end guest of her sis ter, Mrs. J. H. Seay. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sims and Miss Joyce Sims of Greenwood, were visitors in the community Sun day.' A lovely red ancl 'white carnation corsage was presented Miss Bodie upon entering. A double heart favor was pinned on each of the guesjs as they arrived. Thirty-eight guests enjoyed bride’s bingo and other appropriate games, under the direction of Mrs. Clyde Trammell and Mrs. E. C. Burdette. The ladies were invited into the dining room by Mrs. Glenn Gaskins where Mrs B. P. Lark, Mrs. Cal vin Cooper and Mrs. Claude Gil strap served punch, cake squares and nuts in the traditional green and white colors. On winning the last game of bingo Miss Bodie was presented the jack pot price which was the gifts brought by the guests. She received many lovely gifts, including pieces of her chosen pattern in her dinner- ware and china. The hostesses’ gift was a silver framed wedding invitation. GA’s Elect Officers The Junior Girls’ Auxiliary of the Lydia Baptist Church met Thursday afternoon for the rgeular session, with the president, Tonita Harvey, presiding. During the business session new officers were elected. They are: President, Flo Emory; Vice-Presi dent, Peggy Grady; Secretary, Pri scilla Gaskine; Treasurer, Frances Cato; Prgoram Chairman, Linda White; Comihunity Missions Chair man, Janice Franklin. Following the election a program, “Heart to Heirt,’**was presented by the girls and-Mrs. Clyde Trammell, counselor. WM Meets Tonight ' The Woman’s Missionary Society will meet Thursday evening (to night) at 7:30 V m. at the home of Mr s Henry Abercrombie. All ladies of the church are invited to join the society.
