At 7:30 Monday evening the Sarah Glenn Circle, Mrs. J. R. Buzhardt. chairman, will meet at the church with Mrs. Roscoe Buzhardt, Mrs. Carl Chaney, Mrs. Mac Stubbs, hos tesses. The Pauline Coleman Circle, Mrs. Sam McCrary, chairman, will meet February 11 at 10 o’clock at the home,of Mrs. James Wolfe. Sanford-Hughey Rites In Texas January 24 Mrs. Mary Ruth Sanford and Will Allen Hughey were married Friday afternoon, January 24, at Roby, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Hughey will make their home in Roby. The ceremony was t>erfornied by the Rev. Fred D Blake, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Roby. — Mrs! Hughey prior to her mar riage held a position with the Meth odist Hospital in Luverne, Texas. She is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Rutledge Holland of this city. Mrs. Seose Hostess To ULCW Monday Monday evening Mrs. T. M Sease was hostess to members of the United Lutheran Church Women i for the regular monthly meeting. Mrs. C. C. Smith served as co-hos tess. Mrs. S. P. Bowers opened the meeting with prayer and Scripture was read by Mrs! R H. Young. A number of members assisted Mrs. Sease in presenting the program on “American Missions Arithmetic.’’ The /neeting closed w itn silent pray er. During a social hour the hostesses served a refreshment coorse. College Dames Have February Meet The College Dames will meet this evening (Thursday) at 8 o’clock with Mrs. A. J. 'Hiackston. Wesleyan Service < Guild Studies "Japan Today" The Wesleyan Service Guild of Broad Street Methodist Church met on Tuesday evening with Mrs. J. J. Greene. Mrs. Joe Edwards led an interest ing program on “Japan Today.” Work and advancement in Japan Weft-discussed by Mrs. P. M. Pitts. Mrs. Lawrence Edwards presented a brief look at Japan and its major problems. Miss Mary Frances Pin son outlined the evangelistic pro gram in Japan and Miss Dorothy Pinson told of the. progress of wom f eh there. A shdtt business session and an enjoyable fellowship hour preceded adjournment. ARP Circles Study 'Christian Education Christian Education was the topic of. study for the February meetings of the circles of the Associate Re formed Presbyterian Church. Circle No. 1 met Monday after noon at the church with Mrs. A. B Blakely as hostess. Mrs Todd, assisted by Mrs. R. "L. Plaxi- co, Mr. Hubert Todd, Mrs. W. B. Tribble and Mrs. E. B. Sloan led the program Later a social hour and refresh ments were enjoyed. Monday evening circle No. 2 met at the home of Mrs. Ernest Hitt. Mrs. C. Bynum Betts was program chairman and others taking part were Mrs. Marion Nabors, Mrs. James P. Sloan and Mrs. Lowry M. Wilson. Following the program salad and sweet courses were served with Russian tea. . . Episcopal Women Continue Study On Religions Continuing a study on religious denominations in America, Mrs. R, B. Hellams presented the program for the auxiliary of All Saints Epis copal Church on Monday afternoon. She gave papers on Roger Wil liams, Jonathan Edwards and Wil liam Ellery Channing. Mrs. E. N. Sullivan, president, presided over the business session which included plans for the fash ion show to be hefcl on Feb. 12 at 4 o'clock in the ballroom of the Hotel Mary .Musgrove. Other business included plans for the Boy Scout Sunday observance on February 16 at which time the church will issue a special invita tion to Scouts of the local troops to attend church in a body. Announcement was made that the congregational supper planned for February has been postponed until later in the spring. The prer view of spring and summer fash ions, sponsored by the Women’s Auxiliary of All Saints Episcopal Church, is to take place at 4:00 p. m. in the ballroom of Hotel Mary Musgrove. Parrott Chapter Eastern Star Here Friday Mrs. Eva Long, of Georgetown, Worthy Grand Matron, was the in specting officer for the annual in spection meeting of the James B Partott Chapter, Eastern Star, on Friday evening. Preceding the inspection a buffet supper was held in the Masonic huilding. The hall was decorated in the chosen motif of the Grand Ma tron, green and yellow with floral arrangements featuring yellow ros- es. and gladioli.
