Billy Shields has returned home
after a several weeks stay at Camp
Greenville.
- Tommy Sherrill, of Tampa, Fla.,
has joined his mother, Mrs. A. W.
Hanley here for a visit to her
brothers, John, James and Tom
Addison and their families and
will accompany her home.
Mr. and Mrs. JN. C. Wood and
sons, Bob and Bill, of Talladega,
Ala., spent the week-end with
their daughter and sister, Mrs. spent iast week in Lakeland, Fla
Bailey Dixon and Mr. Dixon.
Mrsl Leonard Wilson and son,
Phillip, are visiting her parents in
Evansville, Ind!, foj several weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. R. K. Robinson
and daughters, formerly of Min
neapolis, Minn., arrived yester
day for a few days stay as guests
of Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. An
derson. The Robinsons are moving
to Charlotte, iN. C., to make their
home.
Janet Hamer, Dixie Bolack and
Ann Addison left Sunday to spend
two weeks at Camp (Burgess Glenn
near Cedar Mountain, N. C.
Mrs. C. M. Bailey and Mrs. W.
L. Marshall, Jr., are visitors at
Pawley’s Island.
Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Cooper, Jr.,
accompanied by the latter’s sister
and brother-in-law, Dr. and Mrs.
Ernest Reeves, of Laurens, spent
last week at Myrtle Beach. They
were joined for the week-end toy
Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Anderson.
Among those leaving Sunday for
two weeks at Camp Greenville
were Larry Warren, Jimmy Sul-
-livanr Mike Johnson .and Charles

Col. and Mrs. H<?nry Britt, their
daughter and’ son were guests last
week of the former’s sister, Mrs.
W. R. Anderson and Mr. Anderson.
They have just returned from an
overseas assignment and Col. Britt
will toe stationed in Mississippi fol
lowing a leave,
Mrs. Edward Slier and son, Witt,
of Long Island, N. Y„ Mrs. L. J.
Brandt and daughters, Martha and
Susan, of Greensboro, N. C., have
been visiting their parents, Dr.
and Mrs. B. O. Whitten.
Mr. and Mrs. jO v «£. McKee, of
Greenville, were Sunday guests of
Mrs. F. M. Stutts.
Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Wilkes re
cently spent a week at Pawley’s
Island. They were joined for the
week-end by Harry . Wilkes, Jr.
Friends of the Mrs. Wilkes, Jr,,
will toe interested to know she and
the children are visiting her par
ents in Trinidad, Colorado.
Miss Frances Weibb, a member
of the city schools faculty, has re
turned from a two weeks trip to
California, Grand Canyon and
Canada. Miss Webb flew to Kan
sas City where she joined a tour.
Mrs. Ed Walters and sons, Dic
kie and Steve, of Raleigh, iN. C.,
will arrive today for a week’s visit
with her mother, Mrs. F. M. Stutts.
Mr. Walters wiH join them later
and they will be accompanied
home by David who has been
spending a month here with his
grandmother.
Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Anderson
left Monday for a several weeks
visit with relatives in Tifton, Ga.
Mrs. Perry Moore visited her
mother, Mrs. Jessie Schumacher,
in Inman Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Pierce Chandler
spent last week at Crescent Beach
They were joined for the week
end by Mr. and Mrs. James Sim
mons and children, of Joanna, and
Miss Gwen Hitt.
Mr. and Mrs. T. P. Owens, Mr.
and Mrs. Marvin Stewart spent
last Wednesday at Lake Catawba
as the guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Albright. Mr. Albright
entertained the members of his
class of Laurens High School with
a reunion and Mrs. Owens was a
member of that class.
‘Mrs. D. D. Edmunds, of New
York City, is visiting her parents,
Mr. and.. Mrs. Homer D. Henry,
while Mr. Edmunds; who was
here for the weekend, is in Den
ver, Colorado, on a business trip.
Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Young, Jr
and daughter, Carol, spent Sun
day in Charlotte, N. C., with ‘Mrs.
Young’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.
C. Harmon. '

While away they also visited Sil
ver Springs, St. Petersburg and
other points of interest in Florida.

of Newberry, were guests on
Tuesday of Dr. and Mrs. - D. O.

yesterday from a week’s stay at
Ridgecrest, N. C.
Miss Miriam Templeton, of Bos
ton, Mass., is spending a month’s
vacation with her -parents, Mr. and
Mrs. J. B. Templeton. She has re
cently returned from a visit with
her sister, Mrs. Donald Mann and
Mr. Mann in Lake Wales, Fla. She
was accompanied to Lake Wales
by little Donald and Martha Mann
who had been visiting their grand
parents here
Mrs. Dolon Jones, of Monroe, N.
C., was the overnight guest Tues
day of Dr. and Mrs. D. O. Rhame.
Miss Madeline Cassanova, of
Columbia, spent Sunday and Mon
day here with Mrs. M. Cassanova
and other relatives.

Mrs. Marion Nabors and Mrs. H.
A. Copeland leave today to spend
several days attending a workshop
for the adult woman’s A. R. P
conference at Bon darken. N. C.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Barnes and
children, Mary Joe and Jack, Jr.,
of Denver, Colo., are spending two
weeks with the former’s parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Eric Barnes. Mrs.
Kenneth Matheson and children,
John and Jenny, of Mooresville,
are also here for a few days with
her parents.

burg, is visiting Mr. and Mrs
Grady Chandler and other rela
tives here.

Noyes in Marion, N. C, a few days
this week.

Chatham. N. J., are spending sev
eral weeks here with their grand
mother, Mrs. R. S. Horton and
Mrs. Wade Harrison in Liberty.
Mr. and Mrs. William T. Horton
and children, Cindy, Tommy and
Virginia, of Nashville, Tenn., are
visiting the former’s mother, Mrs

ager of the Clinton Fidelity Loan
Company office. Mr. and Mrs.
Pulley reside in Laurens.
Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Maynard, of
Dunedin, Fla., were week-end
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Carlton F.
Winn.
Mr. and Mrs. Cliff T. Thomason
have returned from a trip to
North Carolina and Tennessee
where they visited the furniture
factories. Later they spent a few
days in Martinsville, Ind., with
their daughter, Mrs. Don Wins
low, and Mr. Winslow.
Mrs. B. F. Wingard with Mrs.
S. M. Warner, of Joanna, attended
the Gift Show in Charlotte during
the week.
Dr. and Mrs. C. Bynum Betts
left Tuesday to spend a few
weeks vacation at their summer
cottage at Bon darken, N. C.
They will return to Clinton Au
gust 22.
Mrs. Howard Smith and chil
dren‘leave this weekend to spend
ten days with members of her
family at Cherry Grove Beach
and in Mullins.
Mrs. James F. King, of Arling
ton, Va., is visiting her mother,
Mrs. J. Will Leake,, and sister,
Mrs. R. P. Hamer. Mr. King will
join her here during the week-end
and they will go later to George
town for a visit with relatives.
