Miss Nabors, 84,
Passes Monday
Miss Margaret (Maggie) Ann
Nabors. 84, died Monday morning
at the home of her nephew, Eu
gene Nabors, 815 North Broad
street, after one year of declining
health and a critical' illness of
eight weeks.
She was a lifelong resident of
Laurens county. She was a daugh
ter of the late Thomas R. and
Elizabeth Hutchinson Nabors. She
was a member of Hurricane Bap
tist church.
She is survived by a number
of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conduct
ed Tuesday at 3:Qp p. m. by the
Rev. J. H. Darr. Burial was in
Hurricane Baptist Church ceme
tery near Clinton.
Pallbearers were Herman, Mar
ion, Henry, Hugh and Thomas
Nabors.

has announced that Ralph W.
Crowe, of Woodruff, was low bid
der on 8.883 miles of grading and
roads in Laurens county for $103,-
487. The bid was received last

low bidders on widening a 254-ft.

Mrs. 0. T. Durden
Dies In Georgia
Mrs. O. T. Durden, formerly of
Clinton, died at the home, of her
daughter, Mrs. G. E. Sims, in East
Point, Ga., Thursday.
For a number of years Mrs
Durden lived here with her
daughter, the 1 a t e Mrs. G. E.
Sims. .
Funeral services and burial
were ip Monticello, Ga., Saturday.

F. D. Roosevelt Ship
Donald Haselden, SH3, son of
Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Haseldon, of
this city, was aboard the Frank
lin D. Roosevelt when it was crip
pled by an explosion. Donald was
uninjured during the accident
which was caused by a wheel cut
ting the steam line. The ship was
about 100 miles at sea from its
base at Mayport, Fla. <
Donald arrived last night to
spend a month's leave with his
parents, after which he will re
port to Patuxent River, Md.
