Russell Trammell to Nashville.! Tenn., this weekend. Russell will enter the Nashville Auto-Diesel College on Monday. July 1. "Mrs. Louise Broome and child ren visited Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Shumate. Sr., and other relatives in Camden last week. Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Shumate, Jr.., and family and Mrs. Mattie Harvey wil spend next week in Daytona Beach and other Florida pities. They will leave Friday eveniing. Lydia Pentecostal Holiness church will be glad to know Rev. Rocoe Bryant, pastor, has been re-appointed to the Lydia church for another year. This will be Rev. Bryant’s fourth year at-Lydia. Birthday Dinner Enjoyed Mrs. Homer Fuller was honored at a birthday dinner Sunday at her home. , A bountiful dinner was enjoy ed by the following: Mr. and Mis. JW Todd and family, of Clinton; Mr. dnd Mrs. Wylie Harper and family, of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Ostrochovsky, of Long Island. N. Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sparino, S. J. Todd. Mr. and Mrs. Fuller and sons. The birthday cak« was white and decorated with pink rose buds. Mrs. Fuller received many gifts. Sympathy Extended The community extends sym pathy to the family of Sgt. John Melvin Stroud, who died at the army hospital at Fort Benning. Ga, He was a brother of Mrs. R. G. Hairston and Mrs. James Cauble and a former resident of Clinton and Lydia Mills. * * * Sympathy is extended to Tom my Nabors and family in the death o'f his aunt, Miss Maggie Nabors, of Clinton, on Monday. Safety Program Given Thursday evening at Providence Miss Pennington Honored On Saturday evening a lovely birthday mirty was held at the Community house in celebration of Miss Peggy Pennington’s birth day, with her mother. Mrs. Wade Pennington, as hostess. Mrs. Har ry Templeton assisted her in the courtesies of entertaining. Around thirty-five guests were present. They enjoyed an eve ning of games and dancing. Refreshments were served from the buffet table which held the lovely decorated cake of white, pink and yellow'. ■ Punch was served with other party dainties. Miss Pennington was the recip ient of many lovely gifts.
