Lee^Ghtfpter iTOC meeting took-^Slace at the home of Mrs. Frank Miller on Broad street. Adorning the home were ar rangements of Admiral Byrd dai sies, feverfew and pink oleander. Supper was served in buffet style. Guests found their places at small prettily decorated tables. Luncheon Honors Mrs. Lukstat On Saturday at 12:30 Miss Pat sy Macdonald entertained with a lovely luncheon honoring Mrs. Richard Lukstat. Sixteen guests were served buf fet style from a beautifully ap pointed table which had a center- piece of “two* hearts which beat as one” made of* pink and white althea rosea. The salads were also in two large hearts with the names “Richard” Snd “Jenny” on each. The guests found their places at small individual tables in the music ronm _JVIiniature ar- rangements of roses centered each table. Lovely flower arrangements of pink shading to maroon adorned the living room. After lunch a shower of kitchen '’utensils were presented Mrs. Luk stat./ The hostess remembered the honoree with a novel corsage of utensils. Mrs. D. O. Payne, of Lakeland, Fla., was an out of town guest. Luncheon Honors June Bride-Elect In compliment to Miss Elaine Crocker whose engagement, has recently been announced, Miss Jane Todd entertained on Satur day with a three course luncheon at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Hubert Todd. Carnations, gardenias and mag nolia were combined with other summer flowers to form a pretty setting for the luncheon. A cor sage iharked the bride-eloct’s place and she was also remember ed by the hostess with a gift of china. In addition to the honoree’s mother, Mrs. William David Crocker, guests included members of the wedding party and other friends. MRS. THOMPSON Miss Marjorie Ann Mills, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Keebler Few- ell Mills, of Pageland, formerly of Clinton, was married to Bruce Mandley Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Thompson, of Michigan City, Jnd., June 4 at 4 p. m. at Pageland Presbyterian Church. The Rev. B. F. Ferguson offi ciated. Terry Thompson, of Ish- peming, Mich., brother of the groom, was best man and Miss Rose Moore Nettles of this city, was maid of honor. Ushers included K. F. Mills. Jr., brother of the bride, Larry Watts, tooth of Pageland, Bill Fox, o' Fort MMircousan-of the bride, and Dave Stone, of Martinsville, Va. The bride wore eyelet batiste and chiffon with a shoulder length veil and carried an orchid on a Bible. • , Mrs. Thompson was graduated from Palmer College of Business in Columbia. Previously employed at Congaree Bank in West Colum bia, she begins work today as a teller in Wachovia Bank in Char lotte. Mf. Thompson is a 1967 grad uate of Presbyterian College, where 1^ received a degree in business administration. He was an ell-state basketball iplaver four years. The honorees were present ed a gift of china in their wedding pattern. Going Away Party For Mrs. Crutchfield A going away party was given for Mrs. William V. Crutchfield who lea ves soon to make her home in Greenville by Miss Kathryn Dicus, Mrs. Frank F. Fowler and Mrs. Edward G. Campbell at the home of the former on Wednesday afternoon of the past week. In a setting of colorful summer flowers tables were arranged for bridge. Score prizes were pre sented Mrs. Marvin Gault, Jr., and Mrs. Judson Davis with the hos tesses remembering Mrs. Crutch field with a gift. A salad course was served when cards were laid aside. Guests included Mrs. Crutch field’s visitors, Mrs. W. J. Crutch field, Sr., of Orangeburg; Mrs. Dave Smith, Jr., of Gastonia, N. C., and Mrs. Robert Crutchfield, of Raleigh, N. C. Mrs. Walker Is Hostess at Bridge Entertaining guests - for four ta- bles, Mrs. James L. Walker was hostess for bridge on Tuesday aft ernoon of the past week at her home on Cedar Street In decoration of the card rooms for the occasion the hostess used arrangements of gardenias and mixed summer flowers. When cards were laid aside a salad, course was enjoyed. Score winners for the progressions were Mrs. Eugene King, Mrs. Marvin Gault, Jr.,, and Mrs. Paul M. Mul ler. Joint Hostesses Fete Mrs. Wright Simpson Mrs. Wright Simpson, a recent bride, the former Miss Frances Graham, was honored with a lin en shower on Tuesday evening by Misses Toni Ray and Shirley Dun away at the home of the former. Upon arrival the bride was giv en a corsage to wear. During the evening bingo was played with prizes awarded the winners. Aft er the shower of gifts had been presented Mrs. Simpson, a salad course with cold drinks was served. For the occasion dahlias, daisies and gladioli added to the attrac tiveness of the home. J. C. A number of friends were invit ed for maming games and at noon a buffet luncheon was served fol lowed by a sweet course. Phizes for the progressions went to Mrs. J. B. Speake, Mrs. L. S. Reddeck and Mrs. H. M. Young. Tables were arranged for the afternoon games after which score awards were presented to Mrs. Frank Cauley, Mrs. Reese H. Young ancP Mrs. Bryan Coates. Late in the afternoon a buffet table was appointed for a salad course, sandwiches, assorted dainties, and a sweet course served with tea.. The dining room was beautiful ly decorated with a variety of early summer flowers including daisies, gladioli and feverfew in a brass container on the piano; table arrangements of dahlias and asters shading from pink to lav ender ;white daisies and lilies and a mixed bouquet of gladioli, feverfew and yellow lilies. Assisting the hostesses in enter taining and serving on the oc casion were Mrs. Fuller L. Reece, Mrs.. Claude A. Crocker, and Mrs. W. D. Crocker. Morning Party Hpnors Mrs. Lukstat Entertaining informally on Sat urday morning, Miss Lou Jones Cornwall honored Mrs. Richard Lukstat, w'hose marriage has re cently been announced, when she was hostess to about 20 of the honoree’s young friends for a soft drink and bermuda shorts party. Summer flowers in pastel tints were arranged throughout the re ceiving rooms. .An epergne filled with roses and gardenias centered the table in the dining room where refreshments were served in buf fet style. Mrs. D. O. Payne, of Lakeland, Fla., the honoree’s aunt, who was visiting here, was a guest for the party.- Buffet Supper Fetes Lt. and Mrs. Lukstat Honoring Lt. and Mrs. Richard Lukstat, of Charleston, whose marriage was announced the past week, the latter’s sister, Mrs. Thomas F. Hollis and Mr. Hollis entertained with a buffet supper on Saturday evening. Phinoh was served on the porch while the guests were assembling. The buffet supper table was beau tifully appointed with a white lin en cut work cloth. The centerpiece w'as a silver bowl filled with roses and gardenias carrying out a pink and white color note. Also used in other floral arrangements in the receiving rooms were double hol lyhocks and baby breath. Gar denias in silver holders adorned the small tables where covers were laid for the 'guests. Mrs. Lukstat’* place was marked with a corsage. Miss Pat Dominick and James Martin, of Laurens, who will be married on June 91, were guests for the supper. B&PW Members Report On State Meet Tuesday evening the Business and Professional Women held the June dinner meeting in the ball room of the Mary Musgrove Hotel’ with a number in attendance. I Roses shading from pink to red adorned the table. Mrs. Leila Johnson, president, presided over the meeting where reports were heard from dele gates attending the state meet ing recently held in Spartanburg. Mrs. Frances Warner, member ship chairman, welcomed Mrs. P. M. Pitts and Mrs. Lewis Bagwell, Jr., new members. The meeting closed with the recitation of the club collect. — ' 1^1 Adoms-Thompson ’ Rites Solemnized In'Greer Ceremony Mi^ Nell Annette Thompson, Columbia and Taylors, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Lawrence Edwin Thompson, of Taylors, was mar ried to Richard Olivcx Adams of this city, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wil lie Erskine Adams, of Columbia, Sunday at 5 b- rn. at the First Presbyterian Church in Greer. The Rev. J. C Hunnicutt officiat ed. y of Music was * presehTed by Mrs Roy Burroughs, - organist, and Gene Thompson, vocalist, both of Columbia. Centering church dec orations was an arch of candela bra. Palms, a white wrought iron kneeling bench and fan-shaped baskets of gladioli, larkspur and gypsophila completed the setting. Given in marriage by her fath er, the bride wore a dress of Chantilly lace over' satin, the short-sleeved bodice design with sequin-embroidered Peter Pan collar. The waltz-length skirt was ruffled. Her fingertip veil was caught to a half-hat edged in seed pearls and sequins. * She carried carnations arranged in the shape of a cross. Miss Betty .Thompson, of Green ville, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Otjjer attendants were Miss An- geline Stewart, of Washington, D. C., Mrs. Virgil Bumdrick, of Co lumbia, sister of the bridegroom, Mrs. William Thompson, of Green ville, and Mrs. James Thompson, of Taylors, both sisters-in-law of the bride.-Angeline Burroughs, oi Columbia, was flower girl. After a reception at the church, the bride changed to a travel cos tume including a pastel blue dress and picture hat with white acces sories. After June 15 the couple will live at 301 S. Owens St. A graduate ^f Furman Univer sity, Mrs. Adams studied in the graduate school of the University of South Carolina. She formerly taught in the Greenville schools, but for the past two years taught in the Brookland-Cayce schools in Columbia. B Ballard lead the de votional, using a Scripture read ing from Isaiah. Miss Kate Milam presented an interesting program on the iwork of the Woman’s So ciety in the Philippines.
