B Arnold. When the gyests assembled, a sweet course iw^s served with cof fee. Two tables were in play with Mrs. B. B. Ballard winning club award. Camellias with berries and greenery were used in decoration for the living room. Mrs. Rowland Is * Bridge Hostess Entertaining mombers of her club and guests for an additional table Mrs. J. P. Rowland was hostess for bridge on Thursday afternoon of the past week Using as a setting, colorful dried arrangements and greens, three were appionted for refreshments. A sweet course, coffee, nuts and candies were served. When scores were counted visitors’ high was made by iMrs. Harry F. Lowman, Jr., and club by Mrs Roy Casque, Entertains Club Thursday Afternoon Mrs. D. O. Rhame was hostess td members of her bridge club on Thursday for a number of after noon games. Arrangements of carnations made a pretty setting for the two tables. Following the progressions prizes were presented Mrs. E. p. Wilkes and Mrs. Kenneth N. Baker. Late in the afternoon a salad plate was served. Is Hostess To Club, Other Guests Mrs. Caldwell 'Benderson was host.ess to members of her bridge club and additional guests assem bling players for four tables on Thursday afternoon. Prize for visitors’ high score went to Mrs. Rufus Sadler and club prize to Mrs. James Macdon ald. When cards were laid aside the hostess served a salad course. Nandina and pyracantha berries with greenery and quince were attractively arranged in- the card rooms. Bridge Benefit Given Friday A card benefit sponsored by the Clinton Band Boasters Club to raise funds to purchase uniforms for mombers of the band will be held Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the American Legion Home. Bridge and canasta tables will be available and club members are asking all card clubs to en gage tables for the afternoon, as well as other individuals who are interested m attending. Score •prizes will be awarded and re freshments will be served. Given Party On Seventh Birthday Honoring her daughter, Melissa, on ’the occasion of her seventh birthday, Wednesdaly, January 16 Mrs. Michael Turner invited a few little girl friends for an aft ernoon party and weiner roast at their home on Young Drive. The play will be given Sunday, March 31, at Gallivan Memorial Hall for the benefit of St Fran cis hospital. M. Fuller en tertained a group of friends bn Thursday evening with a dinner party at their home on Maple Street. Pink gladioli fashioned a cen terpiece for the buffet dinner table. Covers were Laid at small tables pryttily appointed in the receiving rooms where quince and white camellias were used in dec oration. After dinner, bridge was en joyed. Pfize winners were Dr. and M»rs.*E. N Sullivan, Robert F. Black and Pringle Copeland, who kept floating prize. Throughout the county a series of March of Dimes coffees are being held and planned in the in terest of the polio drive. Mrs Marion Nabors, Mrs. H A. Copeland and Mrs. George Watts Copeland attended a coffee dur ing the past week at the home of Mrs. Hugh Morgan in Laurens. Mrs. C W Kitchen, of Laurens, is chairman of the group spon soring the events.
