Bridal Luncheon
Given Friday
A bridal luncheon was given on
Friday at noon at the Mary Mus.
grove Hotel for Miss Gerry Gal
loway and Guy S. Blakely, who
were married that afternoon.
Hosts and hostesses were Mrs.
Jodie A. Chandler, Mr. and Mrs.
James Addison, *Mr. and Mrs.

E. Galloway, Mr. and Mrs. Mich
ael Turner.
Appointed in green and white
the tables held white chrysanthe
mums and gladioli in white con
tainers. Along the center fern was
arranged with white and green
grapes and a white corsage mark
ed the bride’s place. A three course
luncheon was served to the guests
which included the wedding par
ty, members of^ the immediate
families and out of town visitors
here for the rites.
At this time the bride present
ed gifts to her attendants.

Popular Bride-Elect
Wednesday prior to her mar
riage Miss Gerry Galloway was
honored by Mrs. E. H. Wilkes and
Mrs. George R. Blalock with a
luncheon at the Wilkes home.
Three small tables were ap
pointed for the guests with minia
ture wedding bouquet place cards
and pink roses in silver holders.
An antique china conupote hold
ing roses shading from palest ap
ricot and an arrangement of glad
ioli adorned the living room. A hot
iuncheon plate and dessert were
served.
The hostesses remembered Miss
Galloway with a gift.

Mrs. Francis Blalock, Mr.-and Mrs.
Jafnes Von Hollen entertained the
bridal party and out-of-town
guests at dinner in the private
dining room at the Hotel Mary
Musgrove.
Bouquets of white chrysanthe
mums centered small tables where
place cards marked the places for
fifty guests. The bride’s tatole was
adprned with a wedding bell fash
ioned of pale green tulle and white
chrysanthemums and roses. The
buffet dinner table appointed in
pink and white held a crystal and
silver epergne of flowers in that
color motif and silver candelabra
with pink tapers. The wedding
cake placed upon a side table was
cut following dinner.

A lovely wedding of wide inter
est was that of Miss Ruth Ann
Garrett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs
John W. Garrett, of Columlbii, and
Robert Lewis Cason, son of Mr
and (Mrs. Luther Eugene^ Cason, of
this city. Dr. Robert N. DuBose
pastor of the bride, performed the
double-ring ceremony at 8 p m.
November 17 in Shandon Metho
dist church.
Palms, cathedral candles and
arrangements of white gladioli,
carnations, and mums decorated
the church.
Mi-ss Mary Elizabeth Avinger,
organist, and Bill Greene, vocalist,
presented the wedding music.

the bridegroom, was best man.
Mrs. John William Garrett, sis
ter-in-law of the bride, and Mrs.
Mills Junius Peebles, were the

matrons of honor. They wore floor-
length dresses of iridescent aut
umn pink crystallette over taffeta,
fashioned with princess lines and
bouffant gored skirt.
They wore matching hats of silK
which were styled in? bandeau
fashion, and carried crescents of
deep-pink carnations with ribbons
to match their dresses.
The bridesmaids were Mrs. R. E.
Martin, of Clinton, sister of the
bridegroom; Miss Gloria Elizabeth
Herron, of Starr, Miss Elizabeth
Pritchette of Florence and Miss
Patricia Leah Satterfield of Union
They wore dresses identical to
those of the honor attendants and
carried crescents of light-pink
carnations with matching ribbons.
Debra ^in Garrett, niece of the
bride, was flower girl. She wore a
dress which matched in color
those of the attendants and was
styled similarly. She carried a
small basket with matching rib
bons.
The bride, who was given in
marriage by her father, was love
ly in her wcddi'ng dress of delus-
tered satin and imported Brussels
lace. The gown was fashioned with
a fitted torso bodice fastened
down the back with tiny covered
buttons. The portrait neckline wag
finished with appliques of lace
and seed pearls that extended
down the bodice front, and the
long sleeves ended in points over
the hands. The very full circular
skirt was enhanced by large.scroll-
appliques of< Brussels lace em
broidered in seed pearls extend
ing down the sides to the top of
the cathedral train. Her finger

pearls. She earned a crescent bou
quet of stephanotis and tuberoses
centered with a white orchid.
The bride’s mother wore a floor
length gown of aqua lace y design -
ed with short sleeves and stand-
up tulle stole attached do the neck
line in collar effect She wore
white elbow length gloves and a
white orchid corsage
Mrs. D. S- Livingston, Sr., of
Swansea, the bride’s maternal
grandiwthef. wore a na!e bdie

The bridegroom’s mother wore i,

cade fashioned with a sweetheart!

company in Columbia.
MINNIE PRICE
Minnie Price, respected colored
resident, died on Monday, Nov.
19. Funeral services and burial
were held Sunday at Bethel A ME
church near here. She had been
ill two years. • '
