Jr. Friends of Julian Gardner, of Spartanburg, will be interested to know he has accepted a position with the plant in Chesnee. Mrs. * Gardner and children will join Mr. Gardner at a latter date. Miss Millie Thomas, of Colum bia, spent the week-end with Mrs. Jean Bridges. Mrs. J. J. Abrams, Mrs. Algie Abrams and Martha Ellen were Thursday visitors in Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Case and children were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Pitts, of Hick ory Tavern. Mrs. Sherman Reid, of Lyman, spent the week-end with Mrs. J. J. Abrams. Sunday afternoon guests of Mrs. Abrams were Lt. and Mrs. Eddy Kay, enroute from Colum bus, Ga., to San Francisco, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Fowler, of Lyman. Mr. and Mrs. Roosevelt Morgan and children visited the former’s brother, Calhoun Morgan and Mrs. Morgan near Leesville on Sunday. Mrs. Vonalee Smith will observe her birthday on April 25. Mr. and Mrs. H. H Kelly and grandson, Butch Gaffney, spent the week-end in Walhalla with Mr. and Mrs. John Fox. Mrs. J. F. Mrs. Thomap Of Macon Has Party On Saturday afternoon at Jo anna club, Mrs. Richard Thomas, of Macon, Ga., was honored with a party by Mrs. Joyce Elliott, Morris and Miss Arrangements oi Mrs. Mijdred Lida Burnett, early spring flowers were used at vantage points in the party rooms. Workers Conference Held The Workers Conference and Council of Teachers of Epworth church was held| Friday night in the Educational building with 23 workers present. Mrs. J. C. A discussion with the group participating, on “Qualifications Of a Good Teach er.” was led by Mrs. Lavinia Cooley. The group divided into departmental sections, for further; planning and study.
