Nearly 2,000 Drivers
Lost Licenses In March
Almost 2,000 South Carolinians
lost their driving privileges dur
ing March for various traffic law
vioaltions, bringing the total sus-
pensions for the first nine months
of the fiscal year 1955-56 to about
16,000, a state highway depa^t-
men,t monthiy report shows.

The Workers Conference and
Council of Teachers of Epworth
church was held| Friday night in
the Educational building with 23
workers present. Mrs. J. C. Simp-

evening prayer was rendered by
Mrs. Rudolph Prater. A discussion
with the group participating, on
“Qualifications Of a Good Teach
er.” was led by Mrs. Lavinia
Cooley. The group divided into
departmental sections, for further;
planning and study.
An intermission between the pe
riods. refreshments of assorted
sandwiches, cake and iced tea
were served.

met in the Educational building

ed by Mrs. James Simpson. The
topic of the program was “Chris
tian Discipleship Today.” Assist
ing Mrs. Simpson were Mrs. J. L
Abrams and Mrs. H. G. Murrah;

nominating committee was ap
pointed by the president. Mrs. P.
W. Turner will serve as chairman
with Mrs. J. L. Abrams- and Mrs.
James Simpson. Plans for the next
month’s activities were discussed.
