fourth report meeting Tuesday
night
A final clean-up meeting for
Atlanta is scheduled for March
25 and in the meantime, prepara
tions moved ahead for campaigns
in four other regions.
Thus far, $319,654 has been re
ported in hte first four months of
the campaign which seeks $750,-
000 from its two controlling Sy
nods of Gerogia and South Caro
lina during the first year of a
long-range $2,000,000 develop
ment program. ,
In addition to tile $100,000 from
822 subscribers in Atlanta (an av
erage of $122 per gift), a total >f
$918,000 has been brought in in
the home area of Laurens and
Newberry counties and in the
fonn of several early special gifts
elsewhere.
As the campaign continues, the
Augusta-Aaiken regions are well
along in organizational efforts
with the captain’s dinner sched
uled for this Friday night in the
First Presbyterian Church of Au
gusta, Ga. The total organization
dinner is set for the folliwong Fri
day night, and the Diamond Jubi
lee dinner for these two regions
will be held on March 28.

ant Greenville and Spartanburg
areas—also begin setting up their
leadership committees later this
week. Presbyterian President
Marshall W. Brown, has announc
ed that the co-chairmen for
Greenville are the Rev. Phillips
Noble, pastor of the Second Pres

The Atlanta region, in its fourth
report meeting Tuesday night,
added more than $25,000 to its
previous mark ot bring its total
thus far to $100,100. The seven
leading churches in total amount
are: Trinity, $12,825; Peachtree
Road, $11,832; Central, $11,200;
First Church of Atlanta, $7,973;
First Church of Marietta, $7,062;
First Church of Decatur, $6,540;
Memorial Drive, $5,268.

naval receiving station, Norfolk,
Va., awaiting transfer to the USS
Siboney.
