J Brown and David A. Harman, who have for the past five years operated' the newspaper, com mercial job printing plant and completed most of the office supply business on a lease leading to a master’s de- ciation to the newspaper’s read ers; advertisergand correspond ents for the loySl support and friendship accorded him during his long service with The Ad^ vertiser gnd wished the new owners the best of success in the future. , Mr. Brown is a native of Bel ton, the son of Mrs. C. W Tinsley, Trinity Ridge com munity, president of the Laurens County Council of Farm Women, Mr. .Tinsley, County Agent C. B. Cannon, and Miss Celeste Rogers, assistant home demonstration agent. The group discussed and adopt ed a 10-point program for 1956. Mr. Tinsley served also as dele gate to the annual meeting of the Farmers Cooperative Educational association thai met immediately following the adjournment of the State Agrie-ultural Committee meeting. The FCEA is a non- profiting organization ‘through which ammonium nitrate is ord ered in cooperative car Tot orders for. farmers’ conducting pasture top-dressing demonstrations. During 1965 approximately “25 ton.- of ammonium nitrate (33.5 per cent) were purchased in' co operative car lot orders. These orders were handled under the supervision of the Laurens Coun ty Pasture committee, a sub-com mittee of the Laurens County Ag ricultural committee, consisting of Mr. Tinsley, chairman; D. December, with $1,618.00 in fines being assessed in city court by Re corder Henry M Young: Le.-ydi'ftg the list in contributing the most revenue were seven ar rested for driving under the in fluence of intoxicants. They paid fines totaling $556. Drunkenness accounted for 30 arrests, with three suspended, 140 days and $264 in fines being as sessed against the others.- Speeding and reckless driving charges were lodged against 19 offenders, two being suspended, and $237.50 paid. J Disorderly conduct was the charge against 14, with 60 days and $231.50 being levied. Nine were arrested for fighting, one was suspended, and $144 paid. Two were arrested for violating the prostitute law, with" $34 in fines. Three wx-re pharged with petty larceny, with 30 days and $24 levied. •Two offenders paid $24 for op iating auto without driver’s li cense Other offenses, were lodged against three, who were assessed- 30 days and $41. Six were arrested on suspicion or for investigation and released. Parking law violators numbered 114 and they paid $ofl. Episcopal Bishop.^ rot^isjl local Church Sunday ’ The Rt. Rev. C.
