O'Daniel will be interested to know they observed their fifty-- v eighth wedding anniversary De cember 8. Miss Miriam Templeton ol Boston, Mass., arrived Tuesday to spend the Christinas holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Templeton. Mrs. W. A. Dicus, Miss Kath- syn Dicus and Browning Dicus were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Piper in Greenville, the occasion being the eleventh birthday of Brownie Piper. Mrs. R. E. McFadden, Mrs. Fred Craft and Mrs. Eva Mann of Co lumbia, Mrs. L. E. Cason and Mrs. R. E. Martin of this city, were luncheon guests on Thurs day of Mrs. M. J. McFadden in Joanna. Among those here for the can tata on Sunday evening at the First Presbyterian church were: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Erwin, Mrs. J. H. Dunklin, J. H. Dunklin Mr. and Mrs. F. P. Thompson of Lau rens. Mr. and Mrs. Quinton Chap man of Charleston, will spend the week-end with the former’s mother, Mrs. J. H. Donnan, who will accompany them home to spend the Christmas season. Miss Helen Anderson, student at Queens college, Charlotte, will arrive Friday to spend the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Anderson. Mrs. Ayliffe Jacobs leaves this week-end to spend several days in Marietta, Qa., with her daugh ter, Mrs. Ken Bogle and family. Later they will return here with her for Christmas. Mias Eloise Marshall, student at Sweet Briar College, Va., will arrive this week-end to spend the holidays with her mother, Mrs. W. L. Marshall, Jr., and grand mother. Mrs. C, M. Bailey. Mrs. Jesse Sparks, Mrs. B. H. Suddeth and Nolan Suddeth were in Blair on Saturday to attend the funeral of the former’s sister, Mrs. L. M. Blair. Friends will be interested to know Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stutts are now making their home in Fayetteville, N. C., having recent ly moved there from Charlotte where he has been located lor the past four years. Mr. Stutts is con nected with the Delma Studios. Mrs. Walston Lynn and sons, of Rock Hill, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Monroe. Mrs. Julian Coleman leaves Fri- " day night to spend the holidays in New York. En route she will visit Rev. and Mrs. O. W. Chapin in Belleville, N. J., for several days. She will also be the guest while away of Mrs. Henry Jolly in White Plains, N. Y., and Mis. Kenneth Gordon in Rensselaer, N. Y. Friends of Mrs. Henry Trammell will be interested to know she is improving satisfactorily at the General hospital in Spartanburg following an operation on Monday and expects to return to her home here during the week-end. Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pitts, formerly of Greenville, will be interested to' know he ha* been transferred by Southern Electric Co., to Greensboro where they are now making their home. Mias Emma Gray, a sophomore at Converse college, Spartanburg, will arrive home this week-end to spend the holidays with her pa rents, Rev. and Mrs. James S. Gray. Miss Dorothy Clark, of San Francisco, Calif., will arrive Sun day to spend several weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J J. Clark and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. King and children; of Moultrie, Ga., will come this week-end to be here during the Christmas season with her mother, Mrs. W. C. Baldwin and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Draughon and children, of Warsaw, N. C., will also join the family here during the holidays. Mrs. D. N. Harris, of Clemaon, Mrs. Hiram Yarborot^h, of High Point will be week-end guests of Mrs. C. D. Yanborough and Miss Lily Yarborough. Col. and Mrs. Tom Howell and son, Gene, of Falls Church, Va., their other son, Tom, a student at the / University of South Carolina, will arrive this week-end to spend the holidays with their mother and grandmother, Mrs. H. D. Rantin. Davis Young, student at Colum bia Theological seminary, arrived yesterday to spend the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Young. Congressman Robert A. Ash more, of Greenville and Washing ton, was a visitor here Tuesday. Mrs. Keith Fleischmann and children, of Andrews, are coming Saturday to spend a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Spratt. j, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Young, Mr and Mrs. William Young and son, Billy, attended the baptismal ser vice of Melissa Young, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Young, at Trinity Presbyterian church Sun day in Columbia.
