A brief report was made of
the County Agents’ activities for
1955 at a meeting of the County
Agricultural Committee in Lau
rens Thursday. A full report will
be made in the annual report
which will be filed in December
with the United States Depart
ment of Agriculture, Washing
ton, D. C., Clemson College,
District Agent, and a copy filed
in the Conuty Agent’s office. The
report follows:
Cooperated in Clemson Col
lege purbred bull project and
sale; cooperated in beef cattle
county sale; cooperated in feeder
calf sale; cooperated in fat cat
tle sale; assisted in purchasing
animals; assisted in showing ani
mals at five fairs; cooperated in
Brucellosis control program; or

13 boys clubs with 298 members;
held monthly meetings for nine
months; held one summer camp;
held one achievement meeting;
held one rally day meeting; each
club member has one or more
club project.
Publicity—Write weekly news
column for two local papers and
three daily newspapers; conduct
radio programs each week; con
duct television program each
month; mail timely circular let
ters to farmers on timely topics;
made talks to civic organziations
and farm groups; and show edu
cational motion picutres and
film strips and slides at meet
ings.
Marketing — Assisted farmers
in buying and selling livestock,
seeds, poultry and miscellaneous
products.
Other Activities—Assist with
fair exhibits; met with Farm Bu
reau Board of Directors in advis
ory capacity; met with Grange
once each year ;ex-officio mem
ber of Laurens county fair as
sociation; cooperate with other
agencies when called upon; held
outlook meetings; helped organ
ize one community center, and
worked with farm families on
farm and home award recogni
tion.
Egg Grading Mm ting
W .A. Tuten, Clemson College
Extension Marketing Specialist,
will discuss egg grading and the
South Carolina Egg law that was
passed by the legislature in a
poultry meeting November Nov.
9 at 2:30 p. m., in the Agricul
tural Building, with the county
agent in charge. The meeting
is open to the public and any
one interested in grading and
marketing eggs. The meeting
will last approximately two
hours.

120 Lose Licenses
Under Point System
With the suspension of 27
South Carolina drivers licenses
during the week of October 24
through October 30 a total of 120
South Carolinians have now lost
their driving privileges through
the accumulation of 12 demerit
points under the state’s six and a
hlaf month old point system law.
Chief Highway Commissioner
Claude R. McMillan has an
