Family Night Wednesday
Wednesday night will be Fam
ily Night at the Lydia Baptist
church when all of the organizn-
tions of the Woman’s Missionary
Union will meet at the church at
7 o’clock.
This includes th- WMS. YWA,
GA. RA and Sunbeam Band The
Brotherhood will also meet^ at
this time.
All people of the church are
invited to meet with one of these
organizations
Class Meeting and Party Enjoyed
At the regular class meeting
of the Fidelis Sunday school
class of Lydia Baptist church on
Monday evening of last week at
the church the members came
in costume and enjoyed a Hal
lowe’en party.
Mrs. Frank Goss, president of
the class, presided over the busi
ness ssesion, after which Mrs. J.
B. O’Shields and Mrs. B P Lark,
who were in charge of the party,
directed the games and contests.

Word, Mrs. B. B. Ballard and
Mrs. W. E. Neighbors to set the
date which would best suit ev
eryone, and report back to him.
He will then announce the date
for the first PTA meeting.
It is hoped that ell the parents
will join and attend the PTA.
Cirlcle Meeting Tonight
The Martha Franks circle of
the Baptist church WMS will
me^t Thursday (tonight) at 7:30
p. m., with Mrs. Charles Har
vey, 24 Peachtree street.
Study Course Tuesday
The Lydia Baptist church
Woman’s Missionary Society
will hold a study course on Tues
day evening at the church. Mrs.
J. B Abercrombie will teach the
book. ‘ World Within a World.’’
The program will begin at 6:00 p.
m.. and a covered dish supper
will be served during the eve
ning.
All women of the church, and
especially members of the WMS,
are urged to attend.
Camp Fire Girls Elect Officers
The Wahanka group of Camp
Fire girls met Monday afternoon
for the regular session, with
Mrs. J. B. Templeton as leader.
During the business session the
following officers were elected:
Presdient, Cecilia McLendon;
Vice-President, Helen Edge; Sec
retary, Sandra Mlils; Treasurer,
Carolyn Edge; Scribe, Marsha
Pollock.

Mrs. O'Shileds Honored
Mrs Toy O’Shields, a recent
bride ,was honored Friday eve
ning with a household shower at
the home of Mrs. J. B. O’Shields.
A large number of invited
guests were present to enjoy the
games and contests which were
directed by Mrs. O'Shields.
Later in the evening the host
ess, assisted by the co-hostesses,
Mrs. Jim Bailey, Mrs. David Sat
terfield, Mrs. Johnny Reeder and
Mrs. Bill Nelson, served a party
plate with drinks.
The honoree was presentea
many nice and useful gifts.
Re-Enlult In Navy
Junior Tumblin of the Navy
Reserves, has re-enlisted in the
service. He reported for duty on
Wednesday at the Charleston
Naval Base from which he will
be reassigned to the Naval Base
in Long Beach, Calif.
Young Son Has Party
Michael Johnson, son of Mrs.
Bobby Johnson, celebrated his
birthday with a party at Kinder
garten Monday morning.
Games were enjoyed, after
which Michael’s birthday cake
was cut and served with cold
drinks to the group.

an eye operation at the Veter
ans hospital in Columbia the
past week.

Mrs. Mary Mason remains a
patient at Hays hospital.
Mrs. E. W. Mitchell has been
out from her work about ten
days due to illness.
Quinton Jones is ill at his
home.
