G. Lilly, pastor of the bride, of
ficiated, assisted by the Rev. Clyde
Brooks, pastor of the brirtecronm,
using the double rinc ceremony.
Mm. M. Lr Reynolds, Sr., or
ganist, of Hartsvilie, and Miss Ann
Solomons, soloist, of Arthum, Ga.,
presented the wedding music.
The oraher-groomsmen were
Ronald B. Oates, of Lydia, brother
of the bridegroom, Bobby Bentley,
of McCormick, cousin of the bride
groom, Jimmy Brandon, of Cram-
erton, N. C., and (Lee Knight, of
Georgetown.

Barbara Driver, of Aiken.
Miss Mary Ann Neighbors, ou
sin of the bride, of Clinton, Mias
Mary Oates, cousin of the bride
groom, of Oates, Mrs. Jim Rogers,
of Florence, and Mias Joy Ann
Bull, of Georgetown, were the
bridesmaids. Miss Susan Stanley,
of HartsviiUe, cousin of the brie,
was the petite flower girt.
The bride entered the church on
the arm of her farther, John Alien
Dugan, by whom die was given in
marriage. Her gown was made of
antiqued Dupioni silk, with insets
of ribboned imported Chantilly
lace on the bodice and full skirt,
ending in a long chapel train,
fashioned with a portrait neck
line, also trimmed with the Chan-
tally lace. The sleeves were long,
ending in caUa lily points over the
hands. Her fingertip veil of white
bridal illusion was held in place
by a sequin and pearl embroidered
tiara. She carried a cascade brid
al bouquet of Starlight roses.
Immediately following the cere
mony, the bride’s parents enter
tained with a lovely reception in
the Alpine room of the church.
During the evening the bride and
groom left for their wedding trip.
Upon their return they will make
their home in HartsviiUe. For trav
eling the bride wore a charcoal
grey suit, black lizard akin shoes
and bag, a winter white hat and
the orchid from her bridal bou
quet.
Mrs. Oates of a graduate of
Darlington high school in the
class of 1931 and attended Coker
college where she was a member
of the Glee chib, Freshmen Offi
cers and on the Student Council.
Later she transferred to the Uni
versity of South Carolina from
which she received a two year
certificate in Secretarial Science
in 1956. While art the university
she was sponsor for the Sigma Phi
Epsilon fraternity.
Mr. Oates received his high
school education in HartsviUe and
graduated horn HartsviUe high
school. He receives his BS degree
in mechanical engineering from
the University of South Carolina
in 1956. He was a member of Sig
ma Phi Epsilon fraternity where
he held a number of offices dur
ing his four years at Carolina. In
1996 he was voted the outstanding
active member of his fraternity.
He was a member of the Cotillion
club and also a captain in the Air
Force BOTC. He holds a member -
ship in the American Society of
Mechanical Engineers and has re
cently been associated with the
Engineering Department of Sonoco
Products Company in HartsviUe.
HONORED AT .DROP*IN
Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Dunaway
were honored with a drop-in at
their new home Tuesday evening
in observance of their twenty-
fifth wedding anniversary. Their
daughter. Miss Catherine Dun
away, was assisted by Miss Shir
ley Dunaway, a cousin, Mrs. Jack
Cox, and Miss Polly Brazil. About
90 guests catted between the hours
of 7 JO and 9 and the couple re
ceived many gifts. The home was
attractively decorated with silver
and white. The hostess served
punch and cake squares.

Woman's Club Held
Regular Meeting Tues.
The Woman’s club of Clinton
Mill held its regular meeting on
Tuesday night, Oct. 18, at the com
munity house.
During the business session it
was decided that the cluto would
help setl tickets for the Catawba-
Presbyterian football game. The
dub also voted to help the Camp
fire, Bluebird, and Horizon or
ganizations with their Halloween
carnival which is to be held at
Academy Street school on Satur
day, Oct. 29. beginning at 5 p nv.
After the business session, the
club went to Be Ik’s for a style
show Through the courtesy of the
store, the club members were al
lowed to model new fall clothes.
Before adjourning the dub met
again at the community house for
refreshments. ,
