C., who is visiting here. Roses in shades of pink at tractively adorned the prettily appointed luncheon table. Methodist Circles Meet This Week The Sara Glenn circle of Broad Street Methodist church, Mrs. Forrest Adair, chairman, will lAeet with Mrs. C. C. Giles Mon day evening, August 15, at 8 o’clock. Mrs. Thurston Giles and Mrs. Adair will be co-hostesses. The Louise Best circle, Mrs. Irene Pitts, chairman, will meet at Whitten Village at 8 o’clock, Wednesday evening, the 17th. * with sevral members taking part in the form of a panel discussion, was “Youth at the Crossroads." The pastor, Rev. J. Marion Rhod en, added to the discussion with comments at the conclusion. A social hour was later enjoy ed during whcih the hostess serv ed refreshments. August Meeting B6tPW Club The August meeting of the Clinton Business and Profession al Women’s club was held Tues day evening at Hotel Mary Mus- grove with Miss Dorothy Craw ford, president, presiding. Min utes of the last board meeting ~ were read by Mrs. Leila N. John son, recording secretary and ap proved by the club. Miss Crawford then introduced Mrs. Dell Crews who gave a most interesting and helpful talk on how to improve one’s personal appearance. Afterwards a short business session was held. It was an nounced that the next meeting would be a joint one with the Greenwood and Laurens clubs at Blazer’s on Lake Greenwood, September 13, at 7:30. An orien tation program is planned and all members are asked to be pres ent. A letter was read by Mrs. Zona Dutton, corresponding secretary, giving the resignation of the president. Miss Dot Crawford. The club, with much regret, ac cepted the resignation. It was announced that the next board meeting would be held with Miss Rose Lee. All members are urged to attend this business meeting, Sept 8, at 7:30. The meeting came to a close with the reading of the club’s collect Furr-Freemon Rites Announced Mr. and Mrs. Olin F. Furr an nounce the marriage of their daughter, Ada Ann, to Lieuten ant William Curtis Freeman on March 26. 1955. Mrs. Freeman, a graduate of Clinton high school, and a for mer Furman University student, will join her husband in Heil- bonn, Germany, the latter part of August. Lt .Freeman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Freeman of Newber ry, was graduated from Clinton high school and Presbyterian Dinner Party For Mr. and Mrs. Dixon Honoring Mr. and Mrs. galley Dixon, who have recently come to Clinton to make their home, Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Vance entertained at dinner on Tuesday evening. In the smaller dining room covers were laid for the guests at tables with colorful place'mats and decorated with zinnias. A three-course meal was served to about thirty-four guests. After pinner a number of games were enjoyed on the porch. Mrs. W. B. Lea of Rocky Mount, N. C., and Mr. and Mrs. Billy Owens of Knoxville, Tenn., who are visiting here, were out of town guests for the party. Methodist WSCS August Meeting The August meeting of thf Woman’s Society of Christian Service of Broad Street Metho dist church was held on Monday at the church with Mrs. Wibnot Shealy presiding. Mrs. J. V. Edwards gave the devotional which she opened with silent prayer for mission aries in Latin America and the United States. Mrs. Fred Pitts, promotion secretary, gave a talk on the first three goals of the Woman’s Society of Christian Service. Mrs. Ray Thomas was in charge of the program with the theme, “United Effort To ward a Better Life." Attend Wedding In Bristol, Tenn. Mrs. Mary Norman and daugh ter, Miss Patricia Norman. Mrs. Leila N. JLo h n s o n and son, Charles, spent Friday night in Greenville as guests of Dr. and Mrs. Napoleon Hill at their home on Rock Creek Drive. On Saturday they all went to Bristol, Tenn., to attend the Gray-Williamson wedding at the First Presbyterian church. Miss Charlotte Gray of Bristol, be came the bride of Howard W. Williamson, Jr., of Aiken. Mr. Williamson’s mother, of Lancas ter, will be remembered as Miss Myrtle Noman. The groom is a partner in a law firm at Aiken. Entertains Club With Luncheon Mrs. Jasper Rowland enter tained members of her bridge games and luncheon on Thursday at their cottage on Lake Green wood.
