man Univ. classmates in Green-
vHle with a lingerie and linen
shower. Hostesses were Misses
Edith Evans, Helen Stewart,
Carol Littlefield and Ann Cox.
Several arrangements of spring
flowers were used for decoration.
Punch and cakes were served
by the hostesses, assisted by their
mothers.
Golf Association
Hold Luncheon
The regular monthly luncheon
meeting of the Woman’s Golf As
sociation of Lakeside Country
Club will be held Tuesday, May
17.
The group will meet at 10
o’clock. Luncheon will be served
at one o’clock with Mrs. George
M. Huguley and Mrs. Charlisle
Neely as hostesses.
Meetings of the association are
held the first and third Tuesday
in the month with a luncheon
aerved on the latter date.

Mrs. Robert F. Black and Mrs.
W. G. King, Jr. jointly entertain
ed with a luncheon at 1 o’clock
on Wednesday of the past week at
the home of Mrs. J. F. Jacobs.
Luncheon served buffet in the
dining and ten small tables were
laid in the receiving rooms for the
guests. Following the May day
theme colorful flowers were ar
ranged in a basket with organza
butterflies for a centerpiece for
the luncheon table. The smaller
tables were adorned with tiny
candles, flowers and butterflies.

King, Sr., assisted the hostesses in

Thursday afternoon Mrs. Ken

bers of her card club for a dessert
bridge.
Two tables were appointed for
refreshments when the guests ar
rived and later a number of pro-
igressions were made. Mrs. Ansel
B. Godfrey and Mrs. Kenneth
Porter were winners of score
prizes.

program. Following a historical
theme various grades in native
costumes gave folk music. They
were accompanied at the piano by
Mrs. Harry Mc&ween.

was held with Mrs. John Adair

Bridge Luncheon
On Friday at Lakeside Coun
try Club Mrs. Gary Lehn and
Mrs. George Frady jointly enter
tained with a bridge luncheon.
A buffet luncheon table was
appointed in the dining room with
a cut work cloth and adorned
with pink gladioli, snapdragons
and pink tapers. Small tables
laid for the guests in the club
rooms held bud vases with snap
dragons. The hostesses were as
sisted in serving by their mother,
Mrs. C. W. Anderson.
A number of progressions were
enjoyed with score awards going
to Mrs. Jasper Rowland, and Mrs.
Len Ledford. Miss Lillian Dil
lard kept floating prize.

Lions Give Annual
Ladies Night Event
The annua! Lions Club ladies
night was hfeld on Thursd^v even
ing in the hall room of Hotel
Mary Musgrove.
A smorgorsbord supper was
served in the dining roum with
music for the meal and dancing
later furnished by Larry Elliott
and his orchestra. A floor rtiow
was alio given during the evening.
Decorations were in* keeping
with the May Day theme with
May Pole effects used with or
chids on the tables. These were
later presented the ladies as
favors.

and introduced the presidents of
other civic clubs in the city who
were guests of the club for the
occasion.

The Business and Professional
Women’s Club held its regular
dinner meeting at Hotel Mary
Musgrove Tuesday evening. A
short business session was presided
over by the president, Mrs. D. A.
Yarborough. It was decided that
the club would again sponsor a
girl delegate to Girl’s State in Co
lumbia. Pinal plans for attending
the State Convention in Myrtle
Beach on May 13 thru 15 were
' made.
