Fleming. Pastor To Seminary Rev. Stanley Hardee, Jr., pas tor of Lydia Baptist church, will leave Monday to enter the South- ecstem Seminary at Wake For est, N. C. Mr. Hardee will go by plane e;.ch week and return here to conduct services each Sunday. Change In Service Hours * Beginning Sunday, January 9, preaching services will be held at 10:00 a. m. at the Lydia Metho dist church and Sunday school will be at 11:00 a. m. This change will continue for the next six months, it is announced. To Take Church Census Sunday afternoon beginning at 2:30 a church census will be tak en in the community. Those planning to be away Sunday af ternoon are asked by the pastors to leave the information on the mail box. Your church afilia- tion or choice, name and age of all in the family, and the Sunday school or choice, are requested. Wadding of Intarasi The marriage of Miss Dorothy . , June Crepps to Bobby Lee Rkh- City, N. C., spent Christmas with ey both of Clinton, was solemn ized December 18 at 6 o’clock at th Lydia Pentecostal Holiness ihurch. Rev. Jame^ R. Bryan, pastor of the bride, officiated, using the double ring ceremony. The wedding music was pre sented by Mrs. James Bryan. - The couple entered the church together for the rites For her wedding the bride wore an aqua street length dress of pure silk taffeta with black accessories. She wore a corsage of yellow rosebuds. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Eubanks of New Bern, N. C., and the grand daughter of Mrs. G. E. Bishop of Clinton. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Richey of Greenwood. After a wedding trip the young couple will reside with Mrs. Bish op for the present. Woman's Quo The Lydia Woman’s club met, in the community center Satur day evening, with Mrs. Floyd Poole, president, presiding. The devotional was led by Mrs. David Word, who used the Christmas ! story from Luke. The instalation of new officers was heid by the two advisers, Mrs. Wallace and Miss Margaret Blakely. A beauti ful service, lining the theme ot & solemn promise given in a rain bow of colors that touch every phase of life. The pot of gold was entrusted to the officers for the coming year. The president, Mrs. Dave Roberts, whose color was red, and means love. Vice- President, Mrs. Horace Smith, was given the pink color, which symbolizes flowers. The secre tary, Miss Mary Johnson, was given the color of yellow, which means friends, was followed by the treasurer, Mrs. David Word, who was given the color of green, meaning growing things. The program chairman, Mrs. Claude C-iistrap, was likened to whits and means purity. On a snow- white base the glowing candies were flanked by corsages of the sume colors. During the cere mony Miss Blakely pinned the corsages on the olficers. Camp Fir# Ceremonial On Tuesday afternoon in the Community center the Aowakiya Camp Fire girls held their Christ mas party with a ceremonial. The president, Faye Bailey, presided and with a Christmas carol theme honors were presented and the fo’lowing girls received their Wood Gatherer’s Ring for com pleting their Wood Gatherer’s rank: Joyce Roof, Vivian Pear son, Faye Bailey, Shelby Alex ander, Betty Lou McLendon, Linda Satterfield, Joan Wigley, and Peggy Wigley. After singing carols a contest was held for the best decorated Christmas box lunch. Prizes were won by Faye Bailey and Sue Hamilton. The box lunches were served with chocolates. Mrs. Wallace is guardian of the group. Groups From Lydia Eniariain At the Christmas annual ban quet of the Palmetto Bank in Laurens, the entertainment waa presented by a group of boys and girls from Lydia, under the di rection of Mrs. Wallace.
