Summerville and daughters, Teressa, Murintta and Sylvia, left Monday night for their home in Miami, Fla., after visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grover Nabors and other relatives for several weeks. Mr. and Mrs Gene Craven and daughter, Gaye, have re turned from their vacation. While away they visited Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Mitchell in Jackson ville, Fla., points of interest at Silver Springs, Fla., Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Elliott in George town, and Pawley’s Island. - Mr. and Mrs. Ben Weinberg of Atlanta, Ga., are visiting the lat ter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sloan Rowland. Mrs. Horace Poag and son, Micky, of Baltimore, Md., are visiting her sister, Mrs. Johnny Stroud, and Mr. Stroud. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Purdy of Clinton, have returned from a week’s stay in Avon Park, Fla., with Mr. and Mrs. Philip Dudley. Miss Sandra Beckam of Green wood, is spending several weeks with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Beckam. A week-end guest of the Longshores was the former's father, J ; C. Longshore of Newberry. Loaves For Sarvlca Eugene Motes left July 22 to enlist in the Air Force. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Motes and is stationed at Lack- land Air Force Base, San Anton io, Texas. Atlger (Buddy) Kirby, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Kirby, left on July 9 following enlistment in the aimed forces. Boy Scout Nows The Laurens County Boy Scout Honor of Honor of Blue Ridge council will be held in Gray Court August 16. The aim of the local troop is for each boy to advance one step forward in scouting and if this aim is achieved the troop will be 100 per cent in advancement and will receive a citation which is worked for and desired by all troops All friends and patrons of Troop No. 75 are invited to at tend. In the annual roll call and inspection of Laurens county scouts held recently Joanna’s troop 75 made a record of 99.2, an outstanding record never before reached in the county. A trophy was presented to the boys and is on display at the person nel office of Joanna Mills. This trophy is offered by Belk’s of Clinton. If no troop in the county breaks this record before September 1 the trophy will be given to Troop 75 permanently.
