Blackwell and Mr. and Mrs Fred Buchanan. Rev. and Mrs J H Walker of Grove Station, Piedmont, were j supper guests of Mr and Mrs ; George Fleming on last Wed nesday evening. Rev. Walker and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Dunaway. Mrs. Dunaway and son, Danny Ray, returned to Florida with Cpl. Dunaway to stay until the latter part of June. Presbyterian Women To Meet The Lydia Presbyterian wom en of the church will hold their regular monthly meeting Tues day, May 10, at 7:30 at the home of Mrs. Carson Neal on the Greenwood highway. Mrs. B. B: Ballard, Miss Lou Belle Neighbors, Mrs. R- W. Wade, Mrs. Tate Allen, Mrs. Margaret Blakely, Miss Clyde Smith, Miss Mary Johnson, Geo. Fleming, Mrs. R. C. Adair, Mrs. Addison Neighbors and Burl Al- len. Gwelda Tucker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Moore, will be crowned Queen of the May, and Margaret Madden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claud Madden, will be maid of honor. Should the festival be post- given the following Monday af- poned because of rain it will be temoorv Camp Fire Girls Earn First Rank The Committee of Awards met a group of Camp Fire girls of the Wahanka and Aowakiya Camp Fire girls for the rating of their Trail Seekers rank, Friday at the Community center. Those passing the first rank were Flor ence Revis, Betty Ann Black- stock, Cecilia McLendon, Saidra Mills, Linda Corley, Peggy Wig- ley, Janice Davenport, Andrea Dowdle, Linda Satterfield and Vivian Pearson. These awards will be presented at a ceremon ial Tuesday, May 11, at the Com munity center. | Contest Closes , The paint-up, clean-up and fix-up contest closed the first of May. The campaign of making a better community was very successful. Attractive yards and many flower gardens beautify were awarded the following winners: Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Mc- Elhannon, Mr. ,and Mrs. Jesse Duckett, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Taylor and Mr and Mrs. Roy Snider. Fidehs Class To Moot The Fidelia class of the Lydia, Baptist church will meet Thurs day evening at 7:90 with Mrs. Floyd Emory at 40 Peachtree street. All members are invited to be present.
