were called to Woodruff Monday
morning due to the death of the
latter’s sister, Mrs. Glenn Bull.

Grows 10 Million
Since Early "50
Washington, March 15 — The
nation had a population at about
161,100,000 at the beginning of
1954, a gain of nearly 10 million
since the last census April 1,
1950, the Census Bureau esti
mated today.
During 1953 the population in
creased about 2,700,000, or 1.7
per cent. The bureau said the
growth in population has been
remarkably stable for several
years, ranging between 2,500,000
and 2,700,000 a yeitr. or at an av
erage annual rate of about 1.7
per cent.
