Baptist WMS Has Meeting
The general meeting of the Lydia
Baptist church Woman’s Mission
ary Society was held Tuesday eve
ning at the church. Mrs. Houston

the business session the Kathleen
Walker circle had charge of the
program with Mrs. Paul McCauley,
leading. Several members took
part on the program.' Mrs. Hugh
Ballard led the closing prayer.

squares and coffee.
Mrs. B. F. Harvey presented Mrs.
Ralph Harbin with a farewell gift
from the society.

, On Thursday afternoon of the
past week the close neighbors of
Mrs. Ralph Harbin gathered at the
home of Mrs. Clyde Trammell to
present to Mrs. Harbin, who was
moving to Greenville, a farewell

Junior GA Meets Today
The Junior Girls Auxiliary of the
Lydia Baptist church will meet this
afternoon at 5 p m. at the church.
Caldwell-Harris Engagement
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Caldwell an
nounce the engagement of their
daughter. Myrtle, to William Harris
of Pomaria. The wedding will take
place March 3.
Bridal Shower Enjoyed
Mrs. B. F. Harvey and Mrs. Car-
son Neal were joint hostesses at a
bridal shower given for Miss Bar-L
bara Mills, bride-elect, of Febru
ary, an event of Saturday night at
the home of the former.
On arrval Miss Mills was present
ed a white carnation corsage. A
number of guests were present to?
enjoy the games and contests.
Refreshments were served buffet
from a table decorated in the tra
ditional green and white. An ar
rangement of white flowers and
hearts with greenery centered the
table with green and white can
dles in crystal candelabra on each
end. Mrs Cecil McLendon poured
Russian tea. Miss Mills received
many lovely gifts including several
pieces in her chosen pattern of
china and crystal. j

Singing Convention .
There will be a singing conven
tion Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the
Lydia Pentecostal Holiness church.
