The Woman’s Missionary Society
of Calvary Baptist church held their
regular monthly meeting Monday
evening at the church. The president,
Mrs. Grady Smith presided and the
meeting was opened with all singing
“We’ve A Story To Tell,” and prayer
by Mrs. M. L. Poole. Several new
members were welcomed. Roll call
and minutes by the secretary, Mrs.
Louie Webb, with 21 present. A dis
cussion on organizing more circles
was left open to the next meeting.
Other items disposed of hte meeting
was turned over to Mrs. Ralph Rid
dle who with several members gave
an interesting program with the sub
ject “The World At Our Doorstep.”
Mrs. Claud GHstrap gave the devo
tional and closed the meeting with
prayer.
Men’s Clnb Meets
The Men’s Community club held
their regular monthly meeting and
supper Thursday, January 7. After
supper the election of officers was
entered upon for the new year. The
following officers for 19S4 were
elected: William D. Terry, president,
Grange Campbell, secretary, and
Carl Espieg, treasurer.
Quartet to Practice
’ The Men’s chorus and quartet will
practice each Monday‘evening at 6:30
at the Community building.
Rehearsal Today
The Girls’ chorus will rehearse at
the Community building this evening
at 6:30
