Intermediates Enjoy Party
The Intermediate department of
Epworth church, with Mrs. Lavinia
Cooley as leader, enjoyed their an
nual Christmas party last Thurs
day night at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Ralph Prater on the Laurens
Road. Games were enjoyed and
gifts presented to each one pres
ent The Prater home was lovely
with the season’s decorations.
Refreshments of assorted sand
wiches, potato chips, cookies and
iced drinks were served.
Surprise Birthday Supper
On Saturday evening Mrs. Mack
Brown surprised Mr. Brown with
a birthday supper at their home on
Taylor street. The table was cen
tered with a beautifully decorated
cake and surrounded with many
gifts.
Those attending were Mrs. Edna
Hamm Brown and children, Maxie!
and Mary Ann; Mr. and Mrs. Ercie
Brown, Mrs. Marion Hamm, Messrs.
Leroy and Morton Hamm, Mr. and

Enjoy Christmas Party
The staff of Joanna Memorial
hospital and several invited guests
enjoyed their annual Christmas
party last Thursday faternoon at
the hospital. Throughout the lob
by, hall and various windows were
original creations in the season’s
decorations. The party festivities
were climaxed with the exchanging
of gifts.
Christmas Party at Browns
Mr. and Mrs. Ercie Brown had
the annual family Christmas party
at the home on Tillman Circle Sun
day aftemon. The Christmas tree
was brightly lighted J and gifts were
exchanged. Refreshments of chick
en salad, party dainties, fruit cake,
iced drinks and coffee were served.
Present for this delightful occasion
were Mr. and Mrs. Ercie Brown,
Mr. and Mrs. James Brown and
Terry, Mr. and Mrs. Mack Brown
and children, Mr. and Mrs. Tom
Brown and children of Clinton;

Eugene, at Joanna hospital on De

Christmas Tree
Just a reminder, don’t forget
Santa Claus will apear in pperson
at the Christmas tree at Epworth
Methodist church tonight (Thurs
day) at 6 o’clock. Prior to Santa’s
arrival the children’s department
will present a brief program in
keeping with the season. Each
child in the department will re
ceive a gift. Mrs. Rudy Prater is
superintendent.

will regret to learn she is a patient
at Hays hospital following surgerv
on Monday.
Regret to report Mrs. Ethel John
son is a patient at Hays hospital in
Clinton.
Candy Dunlap is confined to her
home on the Whitmire highway
with bronchitis.
Friends of R. G. Carr will regret
to learn he was admitted to Jo
anna hospital on December 17 and
will undergo surgery on December
23.
