Sam Hairston for the present. Their
friends are sorry to learn the former
is ill.
Mrs. Manfie Wilburn of Alcoa,
Tenn., and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Tucker
and son Billy of Spring Lake, N. C.,
were week-end guests of Mr. and
Mrs. W L. Motte and Mrs. Bertie

Mrs. Mary Patterson and Albert
Patterson of Spartanburg spent the
week-end with Mr. and Mrs. J. D.

F. L. Thornburg left Friday by
plane from Atlanta, Ga., to Califor
nia where his son, Lee, is seriously
hi at the March Field hospital there.
Mrs. Thornburg has been with Lee
lor the past two weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hedgepath of
Mt. Holly, N. C., visited Mr, and
Mrs. Bobby Kitchens on Saturday.
Mrs. Kitchens and son returned
home with her parents for a week’s
visit.
Friends of Mr. and Mrs. David
Word sympathize with them in the
loss of the former’s, father, John
Word of Clinton, whose death oc
curred Tuesday.

Ground Breaking ,Postponed
Due to inclement weather the
Lydia Methodist groundbreaking
scheduled for the past Sunday, Dec.
6th will be held Sunday Dec. 13th
at 12:30 P. M., immediately follow-r
ing the morning worship service. All
who are interested in the church are
invited.

Wednesday at 1 P. M. at the home
of Mrs. L. L. Leash. A review of the
book “Let’s Look” was given by Mrs.
