Crisp Retires
After 46 Years
With Railroad
A. B. Crisp, who began his rail
road career at Mountville after
starting out as a mail carrier, has
resigned from his railroad service -
with the Seaboard Air Line after)
46 years with the railroad, accord-f
ing to reports from Flberton. Ga.,'
where he has been ticket agent
since 1920. His retirement was
compulsory after he arrived at the
age of 70 years. His plans for the,
future were Mot announced, except
for a fishing trip with his wife to
Florida.
The ELberton Star of Nov. 1, un-|
der a caption, “Honor to Whom)
Due”, carried the following about
him:
Those who appreciate work well,
done; who appreciate men of char
acter; who appreciate a friend, are
ever quick to pay honor to those
who deserve it. For many years A.
B. Crisp has been a solid patriotic;
citizen of Elberton. His life work
has been with and for the Seaboard)
Air Line Railroad, and now that he
has reached the age limit of service,
he, on yesterday, retired from the
office wherein he has served so
long. His innate courtesy, pleas
ant manners, and sensible handling
of daily routine made him one of
the most popular employees of the
Seaboard. We sincerely hope his
retirement will not nyean he will 1
cease to be one of us.
