Dr. T. L. Timmerman,
Laurens Dentist t
Laurens, October 23—Dr. Thomas
L. Timmerman, 68, a leading den
tist of Laurens, was found dead in
his suite of offices about 1 p. m. Fri- j
day with a bullet wound in his
chest. A pistol lay by his body.
Funeral services were conducted
Sunday afternoon at the Kennedy |
Mortuary chapel by the Rev. J. E.
Rouse, the Rev. Tom Cook and Dr.
W. B. Garrett. Burial followed in
•the Laurens city cemetery. *.
Joe F. Smith was called to' the'
dentist's office toward the end of
the noon hour. Dr. Timmerman, j
he said, was lying fully clothed on 1
a cot in an intercom with blood,
ion his chest. His right arm was^
resting on the bed with the pistol
near his hand, the coroner said.
One bullet had been fired from
it. Coroner Smith said. C. P. Vin

wound over his heart could prob
ably have been made at the noon
hour.
The dentist was found by Miss
Janie Hams, a clerical worker in
an adjoining office, who had been
asked over the telephone by Mrs.
Timmerman to find out why her
husband had not come home for
the mid-day meal.
A native of Edgefield county,
Dr. Timmerman received his den
tal degree from Atlanta Dental col
lege, now incorporated in Emory
University. He opened his office
here in 1910. He was a member
of the First Baptist church.
He was a past president of the
South Carolina Dental Association.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. An
nie T. Timmerman; one son, T. L.,
Jr., Laurens: one daughter, Mrs.
Morns J. Crump. Laurens; five
brothers, G. R.. Charleston; M. M.
Laurens: J. B., Peak: D. C., Augus
ta, Ga.; A. L. Columbia: one sister,
Mrs. B. A. Dukes, Laurens; and
two grandchildren.
