Combined with a four- inch i nerea se in the overall could any mother hope for? “First, as a mother, if you believe Camp Fire’s goals are your goals, too, you are the one who encour ages and sympathizes and supports your girl and her leader. You are not only grateful to the Community Chest for its financial support of Camp Fire but you work on the chest drive in some capacity if pos sible. Of course you give your share. And sometime during the years while your daughter is a member, you share the responsibil ity of leadership as an assistant, leader, sponsor, or on one of the council committees. These com mittees administer 1 the business which sees that the camping, train ing, extension and publicity of thel program are taken care of. Clinton) council has done so well in giving, an opportunity to all girls who wish membership that it cannot afford to let down in its efforts to make our! slogan come true, “Be friendly: make friends; join the Camp Fire Girls.” Learning by doing fs the most fun of all, and your daughter’s leader has commited her self to helping the girls to do just that. These wonderful women in your com munity and in 2,966 other towns and cities in the U. S. are taking the handbooks of some ' National Camp Fire Girls’ organizaitons and bringing to life a series of activi-1 ties for Clinton girls which have been tested out by 2.600,000 girls since 1910. Continuous study has kept the program up to date and the real laboratory is each group. At ten the Blue Bird flies mp, from her nest to a. Camp Fire group. ready to compete against herself for the honor and the ranks she can earn only by trying out each new activity. Camp Fire will soon be established long enough in Clinton to have high school aged members. These girls belong to the Horizon club. The Horizon club has many goals set by the girls themselves as they realize that soon they will be expected to take a responsible role in the world. As the tyjys of 18 and younger go off to military service, the girls are expected to adjust to life and in Horizon club some of the problems can be talked out. One club stated its goal as “getting' Mf smoothed out to meet the social and business world.” Isn’t it your deep est desire, Mothers, that your girls will go serenly into maturity— “smoothed out”—as they have call ed iff Lingerie Lingerie, net or lace, will wear a little longer if you machine stitch back and forth over small breaks or worn places.
