A total of 488 students are regis*,
tered at Presbyterian college for
the first semester of the 1953-54
school year, Registrar G> Edward
Campbell announced yesterday af
ter a final tabulation.
The institution thus heads into
its 73rd session with hte second
largest enrollment in its history. ,
All dormitories are crowded to
capacity, and some 80 additional
resident students have found room
ing accomodations in nearby homes

sizes the great need for more dor
mitory space. A campaign raising
funds for this purpose has passed
the half-way mark, and it is hoped

Devotion To God
Chicago, Sept. 28 — President
Eisenhower said today there is
great need for daily devotion to
God.
The President, in a message to
the sponsors of Qhristian Educa
tion week, set forth:
“I am very happy to join you in
support of the objectives of Chris
tian Education Week. It is an ob
servance through which we and our
nation’s children may heighten our
awareness of the goodness and
greatness of the Almighty in every
deed and thought in our daily lives.
“I hope it will encourage all
Americans to redouble their efforts
to shape their lives and to fashion
their purposes in keeping with
this.”
Christian Education Week began
Sunday and continues to next Sun
day. The President’s, telegram was
sent to the Rev. Gerald E. Knoff,
executive secretary of the division
of Christian education of the Na
tional Council of Churches of Christ
