Mrs. Clara Smith spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Russell Parrish in Laurens. Mrs. Smith has iust returned from a visit wih her sons, Henry and Lawson Smith, in Maid en. N. C. Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Snelgrove and children were Sunday guests of the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Snelgrove, in Saluda. Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Dalton and Betty and Bobby, of Newberry, visited Mr. and Mrs. H. H.Dalton Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Casey Abercrombie and son of Greenwood, visited Mr. and Mrs. Josh Motte and other rela tives here Sunday. Mrs. Bill Nelson and Leland and ^MIss Jean Oakley were business visitors in Greenville Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Smith, Franceen and Laura visited Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wilson in Laurens Monday. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Bray of Green ville, visited their daughter, Mrs. Ralph Harbin, and Mr. Harbin Sun day. Mrs. Jim Harris has returned to her home in Laurens after spend ing the past two weeks with Mr. 1 and Mrs. Josh Motte. Mr. and Mrs. E. I. Grace of Honea Path, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Bailey, Sr., and Granny Grace. Mr. and Mrs. George Fleming and son, Roy, were week-end guests of their parents, C. T. Flem ing in Honea Path and Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Malone in Ware Shoals. Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Fennell and family of Pelzer, visited the for mer’s brother, R. B. Fennell and Mrs. Fennell Sunday. Miss Claribel Horn and Mrs. Nel lie Hassell of Greenville, visited Mr. and Mrs. David Word Sun day. Mrs. W. S. Meeks of Laurens, is spending the week w’ith her son, B. ll Meeks, and Mrs. Meeks. Mrs. Julia Thrift visited her daughter, Mrs. Bill Poole and chil dren in Greer the past week-end. Mrs. F. A. Bodie and Miss Mary Ellen Bodie were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. I. S. Parker in Charlotte N. C. Mr. and Mn.. Billy Fennell and son, with Mr. and Mrs. 6nn Da vis and children of Greenville, visited Mrs. Fennell’s and Mrs. Da vis’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Smuate, Sr., and other relatives in Camden Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Ford of Ruth, N. C., were recent \isitors of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Kuykendall. Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Abercrombie and family spent Sunday with the former’s brother, Broadus Aber crombie and Mrs. Abercroijnbie in Laurens. Mrs. Charles Gaffney and Mrs. Clyde Trammell attended an OES meeting in Whitmire Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Mitchell and Joyce were Sunday dinner guests of Mr., and Mrs. Charles Meadors in Clinton. Birthday Dinner Honoring her husband’s birthday, September 20, Mrs. James Kitchens entertained with a birthday dinner. Enjoying his happy occasion with them were the following guests, including Mr. Kitchens’ mother, brother and sister; Mrs. Ida Kitch ens and Jimmy of Startex; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kitchens, Holly Springs; Mrs. Martha Shelby and children, Duncan; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Coxe and family and Mrs Sam Buice, Spartanburg; Mr. and Parker Noland, Asheville, N. C ; Mrs. Paul Kitchens and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Kitchens and son of Lydia. ♦ Homecoming Sunday The Lydia Pentecostal Holiness church will observe homecoming Sunday, October 4. There will also be singing in the afternoon. All members, former members and friends are invited. Allen To Speak Sunday The Lydia Presbyterian church services have been changed for the coming Sunday from 10 a. m. and 11 a. m. to Sunday school at 2 p. m. and preaching service at 3 p. m. The Rev.
