Bridge Club Meetings
During The Week -
Mrs. Gary Lehn was hostess to
members of her Wednesday bridge
club the past week.
Bowls of roses made a pretty set
ting for two tables in play during
the afternoon. High score was won
by Mrs. James E. Wolfe and conso
lation prize by Mrs. Thomas Bald
win.
Later the hostess served salad and
dessert courses.
A dessert bridge was given on
Thursday by Mrs. W. G. King, Jr.,
for members of her card club.
Two tables were appointed for re
freshments and a sweet course was
served as the guests assembled.
Mrs. James L. Walker, a club visi
tor, made high score.
Zinnias and roses were prettily
arranged in the hostess’ home for
the meeting.
Musgrove Club
Plans Programs
The Musgrove Home Demonstra
tion club met at the school on Sept.
2nd.
The project song, “Old Folks at
Home,” was sung and a devotional
given.
During the business period each
member was asked to tell what she
planned to exhibit at the county
fair. Announcement was made that
the district meeting would be held
at Clemson on Sept. 12.
Mrs. Madeline Cunningham made
a talk on “Storage Space.” Miss
Dean, home demonstration agent,
had “Program Planning” as the sub
ject for her talk. She asked the
members to vote on the programs
they wished to have next year.
Rereshments were served by the
hostesses, Mrs. J. C. Johnson and
Mrs. Charlie James.
under the sponsorship of the local
clcb.
Ticket sales are now underway
and the merchants and business and
professional people in this area have
responded loyally to the program
of endeavoring to have every under
privileged kiddie in this locality be
guests of Kiwanians.
There are several hundred such
kiddies here who are going to be
happier with their eyes popping out
at the clowns and the elephants and
the myriad other attractions for
which Wallace Bos. have become so
well and favorably known in Cir-
cusdom for these many years.
A feature of the Wallace Bros.
Circus is the big downtown street
parade at noon with an ample dis-!
play of variety in performers,^usic
and animals. Enough to prove to
the townspeople that a visit to the |
circus and menagerie at the circus
lot will disclose entertainment par
excellence and at a price within the
reach of all.
