Joanna, which announce their ffrand opening in today’s paper for Friday and Saturday, August 28 and 29. The new store has 6,200 square feet of floor space, with an additional 3,600 in warehouse space at the rear. The building is of brick construction with all modern conveniences, including separate toilets for white and colored, the most modern fluorescent lighting and well insulated for the comfort of their customers. It is so de signed Mr. Lawson states, that when looking through the windows the entire store can be seen. The enlarged space. The games were led by Mrs. Lee Thomas. Refreshments of chick en salad, potato chips, party mints, cake squares with fancy decorations and tea were served. The hostesses were Mesdames James Thomas, C. W. Chandler and Nell Alverson. Norwood-Fowler Miss Betty Jean Norwood became the bride of S-Sgt. Joe Fowler of Camp LeJeune, N. C. on August 14, 8 o’clock at the Pentecostal parson age in Laurens.
