The local batteiv Won two 'trop hies, the 107th and 678th. In win ning, the Clinton boys were unde feated, downing Newberry 21-6, Greenwood 7-3, Anderson 14-0, Wil- liamston 17-5 and Hampton 10-9, for a total of 69 runs to the opponents - 23. . - In the 14-0 win over Anderson, Herb Fallaw pitched Clinton to a no-hit, no-run victory. —Composing—the.-. were: catcher, George Frady; pitch er, Herb Fallaw; first baseman, Char les Johnson; second baseman, James Fuller; shortstop, Truman Owens; third baseman, Darnel Johnson; left- fielder, Charley Foster, centerfielder, Sam • Owens; rightfielder, Jimmy Brasjvell. Clinton also won four games and were undefeated in volleyball. Pesonal Mention Dairi-0 Now Open On Joanna Highway The formal opening of Clinton’s newest ice cream and refreshment stand Dairi-O on the Joanna high- wayv near Midway Theatre was held the past week. Lawter and daughter, Mary Cecil, of Richmond, Va., and Mj-s. W. A. Martin and daughter, Mary, of Fountain Inn, are guests of Mr .and Mrs. G. A. Black. Recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Anderson were Mrs. J. P. Carter of Spartanburg; Miss Bridie Wofford of ^inston-Salem, N. C.; Gene Anderson of Anderson; and Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Brockman of Charleston. Miss Hazel Boland left Saturday to attend a WMU conference in Glo- rietta, New Mexico. She was join ed by Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Milam of Leesburg, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. William Sims leave today for Atlanta, and west Point, Ga., where they will visit the for mer’s brother, Ernest A. Sims and family, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Alexan der, Mrs. Ralph Sims and children. The following scouts leave tomor row to attend explorer camp at Cimarron, N. Mexico: Don Rhame, Henry Chandler, George Blalock, Jimmy Casque, Robert Neely and R. C. Wilkie. They will be away about three weeks, making the trip by chartered bus from Greenville along with other scouts. Miss Joanne Copeland is spending several weeks with Mr. and Mrs. K. L. Floyd in Scranton. She will be accompanied home this week-end by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Copeland. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Poole, Alma Jo Poole, and Mr. and Mrs. Boyce Poole of Laurens, are vacationing in Detroit, Mich., Toronto, Canada, Niagara Falls and other points of interest. Forth and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Brice Forth, Mrs. John Inabi- net and daughter, Johnnie, of St. Matthews, and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Keisler and family of Leesville. Mr. and Mrs. Wilmot Shealy, Jr., and sons spent last week vacation ing at Edisto Beach. Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Smith and children have returned from a va cation stay at Pawley's Island and deep sea fishing at Murrell’s Inlet: Mrs. Alice Barrow of Newberry, is spending the week with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gasque. Satterfield was a patient at the Blalock clinic several days this week suffering a broken arm in jury. Baby Horace Lee Prater of Jo anna, is a patient at Hays hospital. Patients at the Blalock clinic in clude, Mrs. Fayte Fuller, Frank Chumley and Mrs. Dial Gray of Laurens. Mrs. Edith McGinnis is improving at Hays hospital following an ope ration. Friends of W. M. Purdue will re gret to know he is ill and a patient at the Blalock clinic. Mrs. James Cooper has returned to her home in Laurens following a i few days stay at the Blalock clinic. Friends of Mrs. J. David Cope land will be glad to know she is able to be out again after a stay at the Blalock clinic. Patients at Hays hospital include Dlt in h it Over!
