Woman's Club Met
At the June meeting of the Jo
anna .Woman’s club last Thursday
evening an impressive installation
service for the incoming officers j
was held. The setting for the pro
gram was a garden scene with the
i white picket fence and garden gate 1
against a background of. a profus-1
ion of summer flowers and greens.
As each officer was introduced and
charged with her duties for the
coming year she was presented an
old fashioned nosegay and went
through the garden gate to take
her place on the stage.
Also introduced to the members
of the club at this meeting was
Miss Thelma Waller who assumed
her duties at Joanna club house
June 1.
This being the last meeting of
the year gifts were exchanged and
the names of Joanna Sisters re
vealed.
The executive board acted as

Joanna Baptist Church News
On Friday afternoon, June 5, fifty
Juniors and Intermediates of the
Joanna Baptist church enjoyed a
picnic at Margaret Hunter Park in
Newberry.
There has been 275 registered in
Vacation Bible School in ten de
partments of the Joanna Baptist
church. Comencement will be held
in the church auditorium on Fri
day evening at 7:30 o’clock. Each
department will participate. Par
ents and friends are invited to at
