During a business sesion plans were made for the Poppy Day sale Saturday/ Later sandwiches, cook ies and punch were served by the hostesses, Mrs. Henry M. Youn.g, Sr., Mrs. Henderson Pitts, and Mrs. W. G. King, Sr. Mixed garden flowers were ar ranged in several containers as decoration for the home. The evening group was given a DeLoache of Laurens, who showed program on cancer by Mrs. Sara D. a film on the subject and talked on the “Cancer Crusade.” Bowls of Admiral Byrd daisies added attractiveness to the meet ing room. During a social hour the hostess es, Mrs. J. C. Pace, and Mrs. WiL liam Weir, served cake and punch. Campfire, Blue Birds Honor Mrs. Sutherland Complimenting Mrs. A. G. Suth erland, Jr., the leaders and mem bers of Camp Fire and Blue Bird groups in the Kodaka district, en tertained with a mother-daughter tea Friday afternoon in the social rooms of the First Presbyterian church. Mrs. Sutherland, who is president of the Clinton area lead ers association, and also head of the Kodaka district, is leaving this I M. Pitts, Sr. month to make her home in Fon tana, N. C. Mrs. Hubert Boyd received with Mrs. Sutherland and Mrs. Tom Ad dison poured punch. Other lead ers assisting in entertaining were Mrs. James F. Ellison, Mrs. William Davis, Mrs. Frank Fowler and Mrs. Thomas D. Jacobs. Mrs. G. W. Hollingsworth to Mrs. J. W. Crawford. Mrs. George Holland to John Graham. After each tribute a white carna tion was placed in a vase in mem ory of the departed member. Af terwards Mrs. Edwards placed a red carnation in the vase, a symbol ley of Mountville. Holds Memorial Service A memorial service was held Monday afternoon by 1 the Woman’s Society of Christian Service of Broad Street Methodist church.
