Mrs. J. J. Smith and daughter, Nan, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Huble and son of Joanna visited Mrs. Palmer Ballenger in Greer Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Thornton and daughter, Carol, visited the later’s parents. Rev. and (Mrs. C. J. Sexton in Sandy Springs recently. Mrs. O. R. Lonnie Bradford who is stationed at Fort Jackson. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Boyd, Jr., of Atlanta, Ga., were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Braswell, Sr. Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Oxner, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Oxner, Mrs. Daisy Bark er and Mass Billie Dee Hooper at tended a birthday dinner Sunday in Charlotte, given by Mr. and Mrs. Bill Campbell in honor of their daughter, Becky, who was celebrat ing her second birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Leopard and daughters spent Sunday with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Leopard near Saluda. Sorry to report Mrs. W. D. Size more has been confined to her home with illness. Glad to report Mrs. Edgar Young is able to be up again. . Mrs. Fred Haynie has been ill sev eral days. Little Danny Moates, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Moates, is a patient at General Hospital in Spartanburg. Friends of Uncle Jim Osborne will learn with regret that he remains ill at home. Mrs. Lula Moates is ill at her home. Sorry to report LeRoy Moates un derwent surgery at Hays hospital recently. Little Darrel Whitsel is improving after being ill at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Whit sel. Thomas Smith is confined to his home. Mrs. Mamie Easters is recuperat ing at the home of her sister, Mrs: Emma Lawson in Buffalo after be ing a patient at the Blalock clinic. Friends of Mrs. J. V. Lowe will learn with regret she is ill at her home. Miss Juanita Nance is ill. Miss Mabel McCallister is confin ed to her home by illness. George Raines is undergoing treat ment at Hays hospital. Brotherhood Meeting Held The Baptist Brotherhood of the Laurens-Reedy River Associations met last Tuesday night at Calvary Baptist church. The program was di rected by Mr. John Farmer, state di rector of Baptist Brotherhood Work in South Carolina and was as fol lows: Song and Praise service; Film strip on Brotherhood work and an inspirational message by Dr. V.
