Miss Carolyn Bennett spent a
few days in Clinton the past week
with Misses Brenda Strickland and
Beverly Buzhardt.
Miss Barbara Sharpton was a re
cent guest of her sister, and broth
er-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin
Miller, in Greenville.
Misses Helen Black and Ruth
Trammell spent several days dur
ing the holidays with the former’s
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A.
Black, Sr., in the Hurricane com
munity.
Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Bray of Green
ville, were guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Ralph Harbin and family Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. David Word and
Sue, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs.
John Word of Clinton, visited the
latter’s brother, Sherman Reed,
and Mrs. Reed in Lyman Sunday.
Mrs. Carl Cook and children vis
ited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. J.
E. Griffin in Ware Shoals.
Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Alexander
and family were visitors in Ashe
ville, N. C., Sunday.
Thomas Meeks, who is spending
the winter in Cross Anchor with
his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.
H. Holmes, visited his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. J. C. Meeks, for the
week-end.

Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sims, Jr.,

wood, spent Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Claud Sims, Sr.
T. W. Grace and family of Pine-
viile, N. C., were guests of Mr. and
Mrs. W. I. Bailey, Sr., and Mrs.
Alice Grace the past Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Templeton at
tended the Templeton-Sparks wed
ding in York Saturday.
Lt. and Mrs. Jimmie Berry of
Fort Knox, Ky., spent the holidays
with the latter’s parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Bodie.
Buddy Reed of Spartanburg,
spent the past week with Mr. and
Mrs. Lindy Barlow.
Windsor-McCauley Wedding
Mr. and Mrs. Mark Windsor an
nounce the marriage of their
daughter, Patsy Deane, to Pfc.
Lindy McCauley of Fort Benning,
G«., and Clinton, son of Mrs. Paul
McCauley and the late Mr. Mc
Cauley.
The ceremony was performed on
Dec. 25 at the Lucas Avenue Bap
tist church, Laurens, with the Rev.
A. T. Greene performing the dou
ble ring ceremony.
The bride’s only attendant was
Mrs. Joe Proffitt, with Seaman
First Class J. C. Thomas, as best
man.
For her wedding the bride wore
a light tweed suit with black ac-
' cessories. Her corsage was of red
carnations.
After a brief honeymoon in
Georgia the groom returned to
Fort Benning where he is stationed
with the U. S. Army, while Mrs.
McCauley remains with her par
ents.
The bride is a junior at Clinton
high school where she will contin
ue her studies.
Mr. McCauley received his edu
cation in the Clinton schools before
entering service.
’ The couple plans to make their
home in Clinton after March.
With The Sick
Franceen Smith is ill with flu.
Mrs. H. W. Williams entered the
Blalock clinic December 4.
Mrs. Bernice Gregory, mother of
Mrs. M. G. Overstreet, is seriously
ill.
Mrs. Carson Neal and daughter.
Dianne, are able to be out after an
illness. Mr. Neal is still on the
sick list.
Little Dianne Black is ill.
Mrs. Minnie Harvey remains ill
at her home.
Mrs. Effie Wiilis is improving
after several weeks illness.
Mrs. Jewel Todd has returned to
work after a week’s illness.
Martha Ann and Roger Puckett
are ill at their home on Spruce
street.

The Woman’s Misionary Society
of the Baptist church will meet
